Love for free in Epic Games Store
Original news
Valentine's Day is almost a month away, but today a game with a title as beautiful as it is confusing, Love, will be available for free in the Epic Games Store. This is a very simple 2D retro platformer, both visually and in terms of gameplay.
You can watch its trailer below, which immediately brings to mind the iconic Super Meat Boy. However, there's a huge gap between the levels of challenges that these two games present to players.
While I mentioned that Love has nothing to do with love, I will quote a fragment from one of the game reviews published on Steam. On the one hand, it confirms my words, but on the other hand, it denies them. Maybe that's exactly why this review impressed me so much.
The name can be confusing - it's not a dating simulator. The only love that appears here is that of the author [Fred Wood] to his work, or ours to his game.
In this (un)sophisticated way, I want to say that, despite its niche nature, Love was warmly received by players. Of the 1,136 reviews that this game has received on Valve's platform over nearly a decade, positive ones make up 92%. Love is a very short game - it takes an average of 34 minutes to complete...
The item can be collected starting today - when we also find out the title of the next free game (probably it will be Infinifactory) - until the 25th of January. Just a reminder that before it's released, you can get Sail Forth as part of Epic Games' weekly giveaway - a delightful action game centered around pirates. You'll add it to your collection by clicking the link below.
