GTA 5's Michael VA Criticizes Gamers Who Think GTA 6 Will be Woke
Ned Luke, the actor who plays the role of Michael in GTA 5, said what he thinks about people accusing Rockstar Games of becoming „woke.” In an interview with IGN, he also expressed his opinion about the first GTA 6 trailer.
A month ago, we all saw the first trailer of GTA VI and after a detailed analysis of every second of the footage and the heated discussion on the web, our emotions have somewhat subsided. However, after the latest statement from the actor playing Michael De Santa in GTA V the Internet may be burn again.
"There are a lot of these clowns".
The actor in question is Ned Luke, who recently took part in an interview with IGN. In it, he revealed his positive impressions after watching the trailer for GTA VI, served up by Rockstar Games. He also spoke very favorably about Lucia, one of probably two playable characters (the other is to be her boyfriend, Jason), while taking a jab in those who suspect Rockstar of becoming woke.
"Lucia is tough. On the trailer she looked good. There are a lot of these clowns, saying: 'Rockstar has become woke and is going deeper and deeper.' The series has featured other female protagonists in the past [the gender of the character could be chosen in GTA 1 - editor's note], but obviously not in something as big as this [GTA VI - editor's note]," Luke said.
Recall briefly that "woke" or "wokeness" means being alert to social inequality and racism. Over the past few years, it has become as common as it is controversial. Opponents of the principles behind it accuse its proponents of, among other things, overemphasizing women, marginalizing white people or over-promoting LGBT communities and organizations.
Will GTA 6 be "woke"?
Players who disagree with the "woke" ideology worry before all that these principles will guide the developer of GTA VI. Some people, after watching the trailer, drew attention to the large number of black people appearing in it, which is supposed to be evidence of Rockstar's direction.
But let's hope that all fans of the series will be satisfied with the game, for which we still have to wait a little longer. The first trailer revealed that we will take to the streets of Vice City in 2025 at the earliest.
