New Outcast 2 Gameplay Trailer Focuses on Combat System; Lovechild of Elex and Mass Effect
A new gameplay trailer for the TPP action game Outcast: A New Beginning shows off the strengths of the combat system. The game is becoming increasingly like a mix of Elex and Mass Effect.
Announced in 2021, the TPP action game Outcast: A New Beginning (originally Outcast 2: A New Beginning) has received a fresh gameplay trailer. It focuses on the combat system, in which we will be able to modify weapons, use various gadgets (including jet pack) and Talan's ancient powers, as well as tame the fauna of the planet Adelpha. You can watch the footage below.
In addition, the developers revealed some detailed information.
- In the game it will be possible to acquire 32 modules - 24 single and 8 double - which will change the properties of the weapons we use. Combined with six weapon slots in the inventory, we will come to test "over 9,000 combinations" (at least that's what the developers assure us).
- We will also use an energy shield, for both defense and attack - both uses can be seen in the trailer above.
- In clashes with enemies we will make use of a jet pack - just like in both installments of Elex we will also use it during exploration.
- Being a part of Adelpha's natural system, Talan's ancient powers, which I mentioned above (anti-gravity, summoning flying creatures that drop bombs, etc.), will be acquired by performing tasks for the planet's inhabitants - the better we do, the more powerful our abilities will turn out to be.
The aforementioned jetpack is not the only element of Outcast: A New Beginning that is associated with the latest games from studio Piranha Bytes. In truth, the upcoming work of Appeal Studios is looking more and more like a hybrid of Elex and Mass Effect (primarily Andromeda) - on the gameplay trailer in question more than on the previous one.
We still haven't learned the release date for Outcast: A New Beginning, but the title should be released in 2024 for PC, PS5 and XSX/S.
