Frame Generation Problem in No Man's Sky (NMS) Explained
Hello Games recently released a big update 5.0 called Worlds Part I to No Man's Sky. It has introduced many graphical upgrades and changes in the existing biomes. Unfortunately, this patch isn’t perfect. Xbox and Switch players still wait for its release. PC players however, have a huge problem with Frame Generation.
DLSS 3.0 is a technology created by Nvidia that allows you to generate additional FPS by using AI. It’s very useful tool in not very well optimized games. Now No Man's Sky contains a bug which causes enabling this option to have the opposite effect. Many players complain about huge FPS drops.
- At this moment, there is no solution for this bug. Some players are trying to use Digital Foundry advices where user must turn on GSYNC, VSYNC, Nvidia Reflex and DLSS. Additionally you must set FPS limit that is accurate to your GPU performance. However, there is no certainty that this will help solve the problem
- Developers are aware of this bug, so the fix will come soon. At this time, it’s best to simply disable DLSS.
Unfortunately NMS doesn’t support ADM’s frame generation technology called FSR 3. So, there is no alternative option to improve your game performance.
