Psychonauts 2 at 120 FPS on Xbox Series X/S; Story Trailer Available

Double Fine Productions unveiled Psychonauts 2's story trailer. Some other game-related materials have also surfaced online, confirming 120 FPS support on Xbox Series X/S consoles.

Psychonauts 2 received another trailer. After the last (but not first) gameplay presentation, Double Fine Productions decided to introduce the plot of the awaited continuation of the iconic platformer. Nevertheless, there was also room for more than a few fragments of gameplay from the second installment of Psychonauts. If that's still not enough for you, there's plenty of new gameplay footage from websites that have already had a chance to check out the title. You can watch the official material below.

In addition, the editorial staff of the Australian website WellPlayed has already had a six-hour session with Psychonauts 2 and published an interview with Tim Schafer, president of Double Fine, and art director Lisette Titre-Montgomery. In this way, the editors confirmed, among other things, the game's graphics options. While on PS5 we'll be able to play at a maximum of 60 fps (as it's simply the PS4 version running in backward compatibility mode), Xbox Series X/S will support up to 120 fps. It should be noted, that 2K (on Series S) and 4K (on the X model) resolutions will be scaled - native 4K will force the game to play at 60 fps. On PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, 30 fps will have to suffice.

Psychonauts 2 is coming to PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Xbox Series X/S. On PS5 - as we already mentioned - we will play only as part of backward compatibility. The release is set for on August 25.
