Resident Evil 4 Remake Gets Free Mercenaries DLC While Two Key Characters Missing

Starting today, all Resident Evil 4 Remake owners can download the free DLC called The Mercenaries. Unfortunately, the popular Mercenaries Mode is missing two important characters. Instead, there are microtransactions.

As previously announced, beginning with today (i.e., April 7), Resident Evil 4 Remake owners can download a the free DLC called The Marcenaries. Known from many earlier installments of the series, the Mercenaries Mode enables you to extend the fun. However, the DLC is not without some shortcomings.

  • The Marcenaries is missing two important characters - Ada Wong and Albert Wesker (via IGN). In the original Mercenaries, these characters were present.
  • There are also microtransactions in the DLC. Players can purchase so-called tickets, enabling "unique weapon upgrades .

"(...) here's your ticket to the gun show! Specifically a ticket to be redeemed at the Merchant's shop. With this, you'll have access to a weapon's exclusive upgrade at any time, regardless of the weapon's level. Not only that, but once unlocked, the upgrade itself is free of charge!," reads the announcement on PlayStation store.

There are concerns that the absence of Ada Wong and Wesker in Mercenary Mode may have to do with the fact that they will appear in the future as a paid DLC.
