Resident Evil Village Could Appear in Game Pass Soon
Resident Evil Village may soon be coming to the PC/Xbox Game Pass service. That's what a clue found on Microsoft's store suggests.
On May 7, 2022, it will be exactly one year since the release of Resident Evil Village. This is also the end of the period in which - at least according to the alleged agreement between Sony and Capcom - the latest installment of the iconic survival horror series was allegedly banned from PC/Xbox Game Pass. In light of this, can subscribers of this subscription count on the fact that they will soon be able to play RE: Village? Not unlikely. In fact, Polish website XGP.pl even found a clue to this effect.
Resident Evil Village turned out to be one of the biggest releases of last year. Why? You'll find out in our review:
Clue in Xbox Store
New Resident was one of the leading titles during Capcom's recent Xbox Store game sale. When you went into the quick preview of the game's console version in the first few minutes of the action, you could see this:
The information was removed very quickly so it could be considered a human error, but this is not the first such situation. In November 2021 in a very similar way we found out that the Game Pass offer will include Mass Effect: Legendary Edition. Also that incident could be considered human error, but a few weeks later the title actually appeared in Microsoft's service.
How will it be this time? It remains to be seen. However, it's worth being optimistic.
The information spotted in Microsoft's store didn't reveal whether Resident Evil Village will be available only in Xbox Game Pass, or also in its counterpart on the PC or in the Xbox Cloud Gaming service. However, taking as an example the previous installment of Capcom's series, i.e. Resident Evil VII, it can be assumed that the eight game will be available in all three variants of the subscription.
Probable date
The PC/Xbox Game Pass offer for the first half of April should be known today. Even if Resident Evil Village is not be in it, it does not necessarily mean that the game will not be available in the subscription in, for example, May.
Forgotten free DLC
Finally, let me remind you that Capcom supposedly had plans to release a free DLC for RE: Village. One year after the release of the base game seems to be the perfect time to announce the first details about it. Provided, of course, that something is actually happening with it.
