UPDATE
Sony reportedly plans to show God of War: Ragnarok at today's State of Play. Yet with a total of ten games to be presented in twenty minutes, it is unlikely we will get a spectacular gameplay.
Ubisoft Forward behind us, Tokyo Game Show to go - in between, however, we will experience two relatively smaller, but no less significant shows. In addition, both will take place on one day, specifically today. We are talking about State of Play and Nintendo Direct. What awaits us at them?
State of Play
- Sony's presentation will begin at 11:59 pm CEST / 2:59 pm PDT.
- The show will last about 20 minutes.
- We are expected to see ten games heading to PS4, PS5 and PS VR2 - but as the well-known industry insider Tom Henderson reports, by virtue of TGS 2022 they will be more likely to be titles from Japanese companies partnering with Sony.
- Thus, we likely won't see blockbusters like God of War: Ragnarok, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 or Marvel's Wolverine - these are supposedly to be shown during the next State of Play, scheduled for a later date.
Nintendo Direct
- The Nintendo show is scheduled at 4:00 om CEST / 7 am PDT
- It will last approximately 40 minutes.
- It will be mainly devoted to games to be released on Switch in winter 2022/2023.
- The presentation will be available to watch live on Nintendo's channels on YouTube - the exception is the Nintendo UK channel, which has abandoned broadcasting the event due to the death of Queen Elizabeth II. The footage will be posted there as VOD.
