The Medium May be Coming to PS5; Boxed Release Approaching
The Medium from Bloober Team may be heading to PS5. Such revelation is suggested by the game's ESRB age rating.
Over four months have passed since the release of The Medium. The devs from the Polish studio Bloober Team announced that the title will be released this year in a boxed version in cooperation with Koch Media. These plans seem to be coming to fruition - the title received an age rating of 17+ from ESRB (Entertainment Software Rating Board). However, what is more interesting, dedicated platforms listed next to it are XSX|S and PS5.
A slight surprise may be the information about Sony's console - so far The Medium was released only on PC and XSX|S. The game is also available from the beginning in Xbox Game Pass. However, the sense of surprise goes away quite quickly, if we look at the fate of the studio's previous game Blair Witch, a first-person shooter, which was first released on PC and Xbox One, after three months it appeared on PS4 and after another six (almost seven) months also on Switch.
So it looks like it won't be long before Sony console owners will be able to take on the role of Marianne - the titular medium - and travel back to the 1990s to the abandoned Niwa Hotel, whose mystery will require investigating two worlds: those of humans and ghosts. The release date of the game's boxed edition is not yet known, but according to the earlier announcements from Bloober Team, the title should appear in stationery stores by the end of this year. The studio is currently working on another horror game, which may be Silent Hill.
