RedKit tools have opened up new possibilities for creative fans of Witcher 3. One of the greatest examples of it is a project that adds a reputation system to the game. With it Geralt will have to behave much more carefully in specific regions.

The interesting thing is that CD Projekt Red studio originally planned to introduce a reputation system, but eventually abandoned the idea. Now we can find out what the iconic game would look like with this mechanic. The modification is compatible with the "next-gen 4.04" version. The author also noted that the mod is available in all the languages in which the game was released.

How does it work? We start our adventure in a given territory with a reputation of 50 points, and it depends on our actions whether it will go up or down, and how the region's inhabitants will treat us. This system has five levels:

  1. Hated: 0~15
  2. Disliked: 15~40
  3. Neutral: 40~60
  4. Liked: 60~80
  5. Respected: 80~100.

It’s important to note that the system is individual for each area. For example: in Redania we can have the status of "liked", and among the troops of Nilfgaard "hated". The system applies to a total of 5 territories:

  1. Temeria (White Orchard and Velen)
  2. Nilfgaard (Wizima and the army camp)
  3. Redania (Novigrad, oxenford, and any other regions crossed the Pontar River)
  4. Skellige (All Skellige islands)
  5. Toussaint.

How to earn reputation points?

In order to earn points, we have to perform particular quests, contracts, or activities (such as horse races or fist fights). Based on the decisions we make in the quests and how they turn out, we will be assigned an appropriate number of points.

If, for example, Geralt steals in front of the guards or tries to fight them, or worse, murders them, reputation will go down. As a result, the local population will start to distrust us. This also applies to merchants, who can raise the prices of goods or - when we are respected- offer solid discounts.
