Deep Water Studio has news for submarine enthusiasts. The creators of UBOAT have revealed the content that will appear in the game after it leaves early access. The details were revealed in a post on the game's card on Steam.

The simulator was supposed to leave Steam's Early Access last year, but now the developers are aiming for a release this year (although there are a lot of indications that they may not make it on that date either).. As a sort of consolation, in June the developers revealed information about the full version of the game, although not much was mentioned about the new content. More was said only in the developer's latest announcement.

In addition to renewed mentions of polishing the game ahead of the debut of version 1.0, it was confirmed that on release UBOAT will finally enable us to command new types of submarines.

  1. Currently, players only have access to Type VIIC models, but throughout the summer the developers have been working on adding variants IIA, IID. VIIB, VIIC and VIIC/41, which are expected to hit the game at launch.
  2. Type IX and Type XXI are also planned, but these will be introduced to the title as DLCs.
  3. The only problem is that this required the studio to rewrite a large portion of the game's code. As a result fan modifications from UBOAT's early access will be incompatible with version 1.0, until they are updated.

In addition in the next update UBOAT will receive achievements on Steam. The developer also confirmed the addition of support for FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 technology (Nvidia's DLSS equivalent). In addition, the team assured that it still has a lot of news to share in the next developer diaries.

Unfortunately, developers are still unsure when they will be able to finish work on the update. We are also still waiting for news on the release date on the Nintendo Switch console.
