UFL Alpha on Uncut Gameplay

New uncut gameplay from UFL - the upcoming free-to-play rival to the FIFA, PES and EA Sports FC series - has appeared online. There is no shortage of bugs, but the community's reaction is mostly positive.

Studio Strikerz presented a new, this time "uncut" gameplay from UFL - a free-to-play football game due for release in 2023 on PS4, PS5, XOne and XSX/S (unless there are further delays). The released footage (available below) lasts more than 8 minutes and enables you to watch a full match between two unspecified teams.

Evidently, the developer intends to make up for the licensing shortcomings by delivering first-rate gameplay. Will it succeed? For the moment, it's difficult to make a definite verdict. Nevertheless, impressions of the community can be described as moderately positive - especially since we are dealing with an alpha version of the game.

The community points to numerous improvements over previous gameplay video - including improvements in the movement of players, the way passes are executed or defensive play.

Critical reactions are not lacking either. Particular attention has been paid to the low number of shot animations and the fact that they are too fast. The ball physics also leave a little to be desired. In addition, there is no shortage of minor and major bugs, but this is perfectly understandable at this stage of work.

It can therefore be concluded that Strikerz is on the right track. Will UFL become a hit? We'll see - in any case, the stagnation in the football game segment, which for years has been dominated by FIFA and PES, will soon be broken.

Partly contributing to this will be UFL, and partly the fact that Electronic Arts is no longer making FIFA, but its own "kicking game" - EA Sports FC. Nevertheless, Gianni Infantino and his crew do not intend to give up and plan to continue the series without EA.
