Uncharted Director’s Captain America and Black Panther Game Finally Has Title. New Trailer for Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra Looks Stunning
The game is set to hit the market in 2025, with Captain America and Black Panther taking center stage.. The superheroes will face off against villains as World War II rages around the world.
In 2022, we learned that the Skydance New Media studio, founded by the writer and director of the Uncharted series, Amy Henning, is working on a AAA game with superheroes. Today, we got to know her official title, as well as a few other details.
Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, which is the name of the title created by the Henning team, has a feature trailer (below), which was presented during the ongoing State of Unreal 2024 event, organized by Epic Games.
- Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra will offer four playable characters, including two superheroes from the Marvel universe, i.e. Black Panther and Captain America.
- In addition to them, players will have the opportunity to play as an American soldier named Gabriel Jones and a spy from Wakanda, a woman named Nanalii.
- The action of the game -- as the title suggests -- will take place during World War II, specifically in 1943.
- We will visit, among others, Paris, which seems to be the main setting for the unfolding story.
- The production is intended as a single-player.
- Interestingly, Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra will use the capabilities of Unreal Engine 5.4.
Although the trailer for Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra intrigues with its "setting" and looks amazing -- almost making you think it's another superhero movie -- we'll have to wait a bit longer for the game. The planned release window is set for 2025. The game is heading for PC, XSX/S, and PS5.
