Vampyr gameplay presentation shows off combat, dialogues, and choices
At E3 Dontnod presented their upcoming game, Vampyr, to IGN. In a gameplay video presentation they show off combat system, dialogues, as well as choices and consequences.
Vampyr gameplay was showcased at E3 to IGN, and a 15-minute long gameplay video was posted on YouTube. The game is going to be set in the early 20th-century London plagued by the Spanish flu and vampires. The city will be a semi-open world devided into districts. The video presentation shows off in-game combat (melee and ranged), vampiric powers, dialogue system, and more. Besides, the creators discuss some other key features of the game, such as character progression, choices and consequences, etc.
The presentation starts at a funeral, where we meet the main protagonist: Jonathan E. Reid, a World War I veteran and doctor turned into a vampire. Obviously, he is torn between the will to help people and his bloodthirst. However immoral this feels, preying on other human beings is necessary for developing your abilities, but at the same time killing someone (apart from vampire hunters) will have serious consequences. That’s why you will have to investigate people’s lives and choose your victims carefully. There are no good or evil paths here, you can only decide on how much you will succumb to your inner instincts.
Vampyr will come out some time in 2017 for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
