Warhammer 40K: Darktide Devs Celebrate Launch Anniversary with Major Update
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide has received a major update with new content. Its biggest highlight is an additional mission in a new location.
This month, co-op shooter Warhammer 40,000: Darktide will celebrate its first birthday. To mark the occasion, Fatshark has released a major update.
- A new story video has been added, revolving around the Sixth Moebian Regiment and a zone with a bad reputation known as the Carnival.
- It is accompanied by a fresh location (the aforementioned Carnival), in which we help the Moebian Sixth to fend off hordes of enemies.
- Another new feature is the inspection function, enabling us to check players' equipment aboard the Mourningstar.
- Improvements have also been made to the veteran talent tree. These are large enough that the trees of all players have been reset and they must redistribute talent points.
The patch is called The Traitor Curse: Part 1. Just as the name suggests, it is the first of two major updates planned for this year. Part 2 will be released in December and is also expected to offer many new elements and improvements.
Recall that Warhammer 40,000: Darktide debuted on PC on November 30, last year. Meanwhile, on October 4, 2023, the version for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles was released. The game is also available as part of Game Pass, both on PC and XSX/S.
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide was initially received coldly, but recent months have seen an improvement in the game's reception. Players especially liked the October update, which thoroughly reworked the progression system. On Steam, counting all reviews since launch, only 61% are positive, but if we consider only those from the last 30 days, 82% of them praise the game.
