IN A NUTSHELL
  1. On August 12, Zero Hour will debut in Steam's Early Access.
  2. It is a tactical FPS developed by M7 Productions and Attrito, emphasizing realism and online team competition.

For over three years now, Void Interactive has been developing Ready or Not, a game that advertises itself as the spiritual heir to the SWAT series. Work on it will probably be completed next year, but fortunately, those hungry for new tactical FPS games won't have to wait that long. As early as August 12, , Zero Hour from Bangladeshi studios M7 Productions and Attrito will debut in Steam's Early Access. Below we can watch the game's latest trailer.

Unlike Ready or Not, the heart of Zero Hour is to be multiplayer online competition. At the beginning of the match ten players will be divided into two five-person teams. During the game, the task of one team will be to disarm the bomb or save the hostages, and the other will try to stop them from achieving their objective using firearms and gadgets, but also properly placed traps. The whole thing sounds and looks pretty much like Rainbow Six: Siege. Zero Hour, however, is supposed to stand out with a much greater emphasis on realism, just like the SWAT series. According to the creators' assurances, the key to victory will be not only good reflexes, but also patience, proper planning on the tactical map and sensible management of resources.

Zero Hour therefore has a chance to reach those looking for Rainbow Six Siege-like experience, but prefer a slightly less dynamic gameplay than that proposed by Ubisoft. The question is whether the Bangladeshi teams will manage to balance the gameplay to make it enjoyable and avoid technical problems at the launch. The example of the Polish World War 3 shows that even if the title will be very popular at the beginning, it can lose popularity quickly.

Will Zero Hour gather a large enough player base around itself?
