On their podcast episode breaking down the series finale of “The Office,” the “Office Ladies” — Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey — performed their rewatch ritual for listeners one last time, going minute by minute to describe everything that brought the Emmy-winning NBC comedy to its conclusion after nine seasons on May 16, 2013. In the episode, posted on Oct. 30, titled “Finale, Part 2,” Kinsey and Fischer spilled a tonnage of behind the scenes details about how the finale came together, including how showrunner Greg Daniels had kept Steve Carell’s return as Michael Scott a secret from NBC executives until the day before the episode aired, so they couldn’t spoil the surprise by promoting his appearance.
In Carell’s farewell episode, “Goodbye, Michael,” which aired toward the end of Season 7, Michael moved to Colorado to begin a new life with Holly (Amy Ryan), the love of his life, and to start the family he’d always wanted.

Is Michael Scott’s Leadership Style in The Office Inspired by Real-Life CEOs? ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
I wondered if Michael Scott’s antics in The Office had some CEO roots. You’re not alone! While attending a talk on Situational Leadership®, my mind drifted back to Dunder Mifflin. The speaker, Ed, described workplace scenarios that felt plucked straight from the show. Picture this: an employee (let’s say Jim) cruising along, flirting with Pam instead of working. Then, Ryan drops the bomb of an official warning. Cue Jim’s famous line, “I’m about to do something I’ve never done before: try.”
But it wasn’t just Jim; Ed’s insights mirrored countless moments from The Office. Every time Ed recounted a scenario, I envisioned Michael mismanaging his team. Imagine my surprise when I found out Ed had never seen the show! He’s a marathon-running, country-music-loving guy with...

There is no denying that Steve Carell is synonymous with comedy. Whether it’s The 40-Year-Old Virgin or Crazy, Stupid, Love, the actor has proven time and again that simply his presence is enough to make us smile at our screens. However, his run as Michael Scott in The Office is one role that has stuck with us since the beginning.
Steve Carell as Michael Scott | Credits: NBC
Ever since we saw him in his office at Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch sitting with John Krasinski’s Jim, we knew we’d go on to fall in love with him. Sure, the boss was a bit insufferable at first but it didn’t take Michael long to enlist himself amongst our favorite comedy characters of all time. It’s truly a shame Steve Carell didn’t win an Emmy for the historic role and one The Office actor feels exactly the same way.

If ever there was an actor who could convince you he burned his foot on a George Foreman Grill, it’s Steve Carell. And while Michael Scott has several Dundies to his name, Carell never won a single Emmy for playing the beloved Dunder Mifflin boss, something that still bugs the cast of The Office.
There isn’t a whole lot that gets the Creed Bratton character worked up, but the actor (also Creed Bratton) remains dumbfounded that Steve Carell didn’t take home a Primetime Emmy for The Office despite six nominations. As he put it, “There were other people who were against him – there was no comparison. That’s a travesty. So that’s still a bone of contention. I’m chewing it, boys, I’m gnawing on it.” As for who Carell lost to, there’s Tony Shaloub for Monk, Ricky Gervais for Extras, Alec Baldwin for...

When Covid hit a little over four years, Creed Bratton’s entire life shut down. He couldn’t play gigs, book any TV or film work, appear at fan conventions for The Office (he played Dunder Mifflin’s resident weirdo across all nine seasons of the show) or even see his granddaughters. Just about the only thing he could do was write songs, which he’s finally going to share with the world Sept. 27 with the release of his new LP Tao Pop.

In spite of almost two decades having passed since the release of the first episode, The Office’s legacy still lives on in the hearts of its fans, who still discuss the sitcom’s hilarious characters and the hidden details giving much insight on them.
Among them there’s obviously the series’ most mysterious onscreen employee, whose charismatic nature makes the fandom love him a lot despite his relatively small screen time. You can already guess that we’re talking about Creed Bratton, the fictionalized version of the actor of the same name and Scranton’s most experienced worker.
Creed’s background is partially revealed by one-off liners delivered by him, but one scene brings more understanding of his past that can both amaze and horrify you.

The recurring rumors and hope for a revival of the beloved NBC sitcom The Office have returned this week, and this time it’s come from a surprising source — Bryan Cranston. And the Breaking Bad Emmy winner thinks the Dunder Mifflin crew should now be working on a bigger screen.
Appearing on the Office Ladies podcast, hosted by two of the series stars, Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey, Cranston floated the idea of a The Office feature-length movie, which would show where the whole gang landed a decade after the series concluded.
“Let’s say that there’s not a reboot series, but what if there was a movie?” Cranston pondered on the podcast. “Something to where we can see where these people are. These people in the entire cast that we’re curious about. We wondered at the end, where did they go? What did become of them?”

With the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, there's been one term that's finally been dying down:
Reboot.
Now that the WGA strike is nearing its end, the term is returning in a big way, and it isn't easy to be excited about this piece of TV news.
The latest edition of the Puck newsletter broke the news that a reboot of the NBC iteration of The Office is in development.
The only bit of good news is that Greg Daniels, who brought the Steve Carell comedy series to life, will shepherd the new adaptation.
There are no details on where the potential series would air, but it's hard to imagine any network not jumping at the opportunity of bringing the iconic comedy back to life.
The Office launched on NBC in 2005 and aired for nine seasons through 2013, picking up numerous awards and acclaim.

You’ve probably never heard of “Pbc.” For accountants, Pbc is a common acronym for “Provided by Client.” Also for accountants: FloQast software. And, in what seems like the ultimate bad idea for target-demo marketing, “Pbc” is a branded-content comedy series about accounting that’s produced by FloQast Studios.
But here’s the weird part: “Pbc” is not bad. Its supporting cast includes Danny Trejo (“Machete”), Kate Flannery (“The Office”), and Pete Gardner (“Crazy Ex-Girlfriend”). It just added Cheri Oteri (“Saturday Night Live”) and Neil Flynn(“Scrubs”). You probably wouldn’t know the series’ leads, Jessica Sarah Flaum and Christian A. Pierce, but they’re talented and have a total Jim-and-Pam thing going on.
If you want to check it out, Season 2 is now streaming (timed by FloQast to give accountants some much-need levity ahead of the busy accounting season). “Pbc” is not the next big Nielsen hit; for one thing,...

When Dolly Parton learned she was going to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, her first reaction was to tell her supporters not to vote for her since she saw herself as strictly a country artist. But when she walked onstage near the end of the induction ceremony Saturday night at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, after witnessing an incredible evening of music by artists as diverse as Eminem, Judas Priest, Lionel Richie, and Duran Duran, a beaming Parton had a very different take on the situation.

You’ll have heard that young people don’t watch television anymore, which might come as some surprise to young people. They absolutely still watch television, just on their own schedule, not that of a broadcaster, and not the way it used to be done, anchored to a single spot or even a single screen.
If young people didn’t watch television, then The Office: An American Workplace wouldn’t have been streamed for 57 billion minutes in the US in 2020, because it’s far from only those of us who’ve experienced the mundanity of office life who love The Office. "We need to find something that real gamers really want to play." Blue Fox Entertainment has released an official trailer for an indie comedy titled Hero Mode, the feature directorial debut of producer / filmmaker A.J. Tesler. With his family’s indie video game business on the brink of bankruptcy, a teenage coding genius has just 30 days to create the world’s greatest video game. "No pressure." They're playing this as a family comedy for all ages, and it definitely looks like it's made to make everyone laugh. Hero Mode stars Chris Carpenter as Troy, Mira Sorvino, Sean Astin plus Indiana Massara as Paige, along with Mary Lynn Rajskub, Kimia Behpoornia, Phillip Solomon, Monte Markham, Creed Bratton, Jim O'Heir, Erik Griffin, Bobby Lee, and Al Madrigal. This is extremely cheesy and especially obvious in its video game designer humor. But there is still some kind of strange charm to it that might make it worth watching.

The made-for-tv movie was a programming staple for the broadcast networks in the 1970s and 1980s. While it fell out of favor in the 1990s and was even dropped as an Emmy Awards category for three years beginning in 2011, it has been on an upswing as of late. This year, 28 telefilms are in contention for the five nominations that will be revealed on July 28; last year only 21 TV movies were submitted.
All 22,000 plus voting members of the TV academy have until July 13 to cast their 2020 Emmy Awards nominations ballots for their favorite TV movies. In the past, voters were limited in the number of telefilms that they could put forth. In 2017 that cap (which was usually 10 per category) was lifted. And, as opposed to the Oscars, voters for the Emmys do not rank their choices and nominees are determined by a simple tally.

Arguably one of the best shows on television right now, Killing Eve‘s third season deserves a lot more praise than it got.
“Superb, stylish, and tragically beautiful are just a few words to describe Killing Eve as a whole, though the third season of this BBC hit, in particular, was especially brilliant, despite what the many negative reviews written by cis male critics say. Sandra Oh, Jodie Comer, Fiona Shaw, Kim Bodnia, and the rest of the cast delivered stellar performances, as usual, but it wasn’t simply the performances that tied the season together—it was also the character development throughout.”

As every true fan of The Office knows, Creed Bratton had a long and interesting life long before he joined up with the crew at Dunder Mifflin. Back in the Sixties, before some of his Office castmates were even born, Bratton was scoring big radio hits as a member of the folk-rock band the Grass Roots, who played gigs alongside Buffalo Springfield and the Beach Boys.

The cast of The Office has reunited for a very special wedding on Zoom, recreating the memorable wedding entrance dance from Jim and Pam’s wedding on the iconic sitcom.
It all happened on Office alum John Krasinski’s weekly quarantine YouTube series Good News. Maryland couple John and Susan happen to be big fans of the show and sent Krasinski the video of John’s proposal. John had re-enacted how Jim Halpert (Krazinski) asked Pam Beesly (Jenna Fischer) to marry him on The Office. “He got down on one knee and just like Jim he was like, ‘I can’t wait any longer,’” Susan recalled.
Krasinski was so excited when he saw the video, he became an ordained minister online so that he could officiate their wedding. Krasinski even gathered the couple’s close friends and family on Zoom and performed the ceremony immediately. Country music star Zac Brown performed the music.

John Krasinski’s quarantine web series “Some Good News” is the gift that keeps on giving.
