On their podcast episode breaking down the series finale of “The Office,” the “Office Ladies” — Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey — performed their rewatch ritual for listeners one last time, going minute by minute to describe everything that brought the Emmy-winning NBC comedy to its conclusion after nine seasons on May 16, 2013. In the episode, posted on Oct. 30, titled “Finale, Part 2,” Kinsey and Fischer spilled a tonnage of behind the scenes details about how the finale came together, including how showrunner Greg Daniels had kept Steve Carell’s return as Michael Scott a secret from NBC executives until the day before the episode aired, so they couldn’t spoil the surprise by promoting his appearance.

There is no denying that Steve Carell is synonymous with comedy. Whether it’s The 40-Year-Old Virgin or Crazy, Stupid, Love, the actor has proven time and again that simply his presence is enough to make us smile at our screens. However, his run as Michael Scott in The Office is one role that has stuck with us since the beginning.

Ever since we saw him in his office at Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch sitting with John Krasinski’s Jim, we knew we’d go on to fall in love with him. Sure, the boss was a bit insufferable at first but it didn’t take Michael long to enlist himself amongst our favorite comedy characters of all time. It’s truly a shame Steve Carell didn’t win an Emmy for the historic role and one The Office actor feels exactly the same way.

The new offshoot of The Office has added three to its cast. According to Deadline, Melvin Gregg, Chelsea Frei, and Ramona Young are joining the previously cast Sabrina Impacciatore and Domhnall Gleeson. Peacock ordered the yet-to-be titled comedy in May.

The new mockumentary series from Greg Daniels and Michael Koman will be set in the same universe as The Office. That series aired for nine seasons on NBC. The recurring rumors and hope for a revival of the beloved NBC sitcom The Office have returned this week, and this time it’s come from a surprising source — Bryan Cranston. And the Breaking Bad Emmy winner thinks the Dunder Mifflin crew should now be working on a bigger screen.

Appearing on the Office Ladies podcast, hosted by two of the series stars, Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey, Cranston floated the idea of a The Office feature-length movie, which would show where the whole gang landed a decade after the series concluded.

“Let’s say that there’s not a reboot series, but what if there was a movie?” Cranston pondered on the podcast. “Something to where we can see where these people are. These people in the entire cast that we’re curious about. We wondered at the end, where did they go? What did become of them?”

With the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, there's been one term that's finally been dying down:

Reboot.

Now that the WGA strike is nearing its end, the term is returning in a big way, and it isn't easy to be excited about this piece of TV news.

The latest edition of the Puck newsletter broke the news that a reboot of the NBC iteration of The Office is in development.

The only bit of good news is that Greg Daniels, who brought the Steve Carell comedy series to life, will shepherd the new adaptation.

There are no details on where the potential series would air, but it's hard to imagine any network not jumping at the opportunity of bringing the iconic comedy back to life.

The Office launched on NBC in 2005 and aired for nine seasons through 2013, picking up numerous awards and acclaim.

It just added Cheri Oteri (“Saturday Night Live”) and Neil Flynn(“Scrubs”). You probably wouldn’t know the series’ leads, Jessica Sarah Flaum and Christian A. Pierce, but they’re talented and have a total Jim-and-Pam thing going on.

Landing on shelves October 1, the 1,164-piece building set is available for pre-order for 120 starting today exclusively online at Walmart in the U.S. and Canada. The actor has teamed with Audioboom to launch Dark Air with Terry Carnation, which explores the on and off-air life of host of a late-night, Am talk-radio show that features outrageous callers and bizarre topics. Topics include UFOs, the paranormal, the occult, the Illuminati and whether or not Kim Jong Un is secretly a robot.

Co-created with writer Aaron Lee, the series will feature guest stars including Angela Kinsey, Yvette Nicole Brown, Tom Lennon, Creed Bratton, Jason Reitman, Sam Neill and Nathan Fillion.

Exclusive: Brian Baumgartner, who played Kevin Malone in The Office, is staying in Scranton for his latest podcast – a deep dive on the hit NBC comedy.

Baumgartner and Propagate Content have teamed up with podcast network group iHeartMedia to launch The Office Deep Dive with Brian Baumgartner.

The series, which Baumgartner tells Deadline will consist of between 40 and 50 episodes, will launch February 9.

It is a follow-up to his Spotify podcast An Oral History of The Office, a 12-episode series that traced how an oddball British comedy became a long-running hit for NBC, navigating past near cancellation to become a streaming sensation.

The made-for-tv movie was a programming staple for the broadcast networks in the 1970s and 1980s. While it fell out of favor in the 1990s and was even dropped as an Emmy Awards category for three years beginning in 2011, it has been on an upswing as of late. This year, 28 telefilms are in contention for the five nominations that will be revealed on July 28; last year only 21 TV movies were submitted.

All 22,000 plus voting members of the TV academy have until July 13 to cast their 2020 Emmy Awards nominations ballots for their favorite TV movies. In the past, voters were limited in the number of telefilms that they could put forth. In 2017 that cap (which was usually 10 per category) was lifted. And, as opposed to the Oscars, voters for the Emmys do not rank their choices and nominees are determined by a simple tally.

Arguably one of the best shows on television right now, Killing Eve‘s third season deserves a lot more praise than it got.

It all happened on Office alum John Krasinski’s weekly quarantine YouTube series Good News. Maryland couple John and Susan happen to be big fans of the show and sent Krasinski the video of John’s proposal. John had re-enacted how Jim Halpert (Krazinski) asked Pam Beesly (Jenna Fischer) to marry him on The Office. “He got down on one knee and just like Jim he was like, ‘I can’t wait any longer,’” Susan recalled.

Krasinski was so excited when he saw the video, he became an ordained minister online so that he could officiate their wedding. Krasinski even gathered the couple’s close friends and family on Zoom and performed the ceremony immediately. Country music star Zac Brown performed the music.

John Krasinski’s quarantine web series “Some Good News” is the gift that keeps on giving. The show launched in March with a premiere episode that reunited Krasinski with his “Office” co-star Steve Carell, but Krasinski topped himself during the May 10 installment by bringing together the entire ensemble of NBC’s legendary sitcom via Zoom video chat. “The Office” cast reunited to surprise two diehard fans of the show that had just gotten married on the same “Some Good News” episode.

John Krasinski brought back more than a dozen castmates from “The Office,” including Steve Carell, Jenna Fischer, Mindy Kaling and Rainn Wilson, to throw a virtual wedding for a Maryland couple on his weekly life-in-quarantine YouTube show, “Some Good News.”

Susan and John, whose marriage proposal echoed Jim’s to Pam on “The Office,” were surprised by Krasinski on a live videoconference, who first brought their parents and friends.

Krasinski, officiating the virtual nuptials, then introduced Jenna Fischer as Susan’s maid of honor and country singer Zac Brown, who performed a new yet-to-be-released song, “The Man Who Loves You the Most,” for the couple.

Several cast members have partnered with the fundraising organization Omaze for an online coffee date for charity. People can make donations online to enter the sweepstakes, and the proceeds will go to the Variety Boys & Girls Club. The foundation provides families with meals, emergency supplies and activities during the coronavirus pandemic.
