Marcia Davenport(1903-1996)

Ms. Davenport was a New York writer, biographer, and novelist whose
books inspired movies starring some of Hollywood's top names. In
addition to writing the works, "Valley of Decision" and "East Side,
West Side", which inspired movies of the same name, she was also author
of "Mozart", a biography of
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, that
came out in 1932 and has been continuously in print, ever since. She
was also on the staff of the New Yorker magazine, 1928-1931, before
becoming a freelance lecturer, music critic, commentator and author.
Her other books included her autobiography, "Too Strong for Fantasy".
