The One Direction alum’s autopsy showed that his injuries were neither the cause of self-harm or physical intervention by others after he died of multiple injuries and external building when he fell from the third-floor balcony of his Buenos Aires hotel room on Wednesday, Oct. 16 at age 31.

After La Nación reported that Hotel Casa Sur staff called police before the incident to report “an aggressive man that could’ve been under the influence of drugs or alcohol,” a toxicology report found multiple drugs in his system at the time of death.

The three suspects, who were not identified, were charged with “abandonment of a person followed by death, supply and facilitating the use of narcotics.” A judge has prohibited the trio from leaving the country, but no one has been arrested.

Three weeks after One Direction singer Liam Payne fell to his death at a Buenos Aires hotel last month, officials in Argentina have charged three individuals in the case.

“Illicit conduct was discovered from which three people were charged with the crimes of abandonment of a person followed by death, supply and facilitation of narcotics,” the public prosecutor’s office said Thursday.

Payne died on October 16 in the Argentinian metropolis after falling off a balcony from his suite on the Hotel Casa Sur’s third floor. Put before a judge late last week by prosecutor Andrés Esteban Madrea, the charges in the 180-page indictment were made public today.

One of the trio charged Thursday was someone who was close to Payne and perhaps worked for him, officials say. The two other persons were a hotel employee and another individual who provided drugs to the singer.

Liam Payne’s body will be flown back to the UK in the next 36 hours, according to media in Argentina, where the former One Direction singer died last month.

The Sun newspaper reports that Payne’s funeral will take place in the UK this week, at St Paul’s Cathedral in Wolverhampton, the city where he grew up.

Jason Raff, who has served as showrunner of the long-running NBC hit for 19 seasons, has left the show.

After 482 original episodes including 140 hours of live episodes, Raff told Deadline that he was informed that he was being let go the day after season 19 finished at the end of September due to budget cuts.

Raff also developed and served as showrunner for all of the show’s spinoffs including America’s Got Talent: The Champions, AGT: Extreme, America’s Got Talent: All-Stars and America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League.

Sam Donnelly, who has served as showrunner alongside Raff, will continue as solo showrunner on Season 20 show, which is produced by Fremantle and Syco Entertainment, and will likely air in May 2025.

Raff told Deadline that nearly 20 years ago, he was handed a DVD of a presentation for British broadcaster ITV called Paul’s O’Grady’s Got Talent.

Pink cocaine is a recreational drug that includes ketamine, methamphetamine, Mdma, opioids, and/or new psychoactive substances, according to the National Institutes of Health.

A partial autopsy report last week determined that the former One Direction singer died of “multiple trauma” and “internal and external hemorrhage,” as the result of the fall from the balcony of his third-floor hotel room in the Palermo neighborhood of Buenos Aires where he was staying, the local Public Prosecutor’s Office revealed.
