West caused mass controversy after a recent appearance on the Drink Champs podcast, in which he made a number of remarks about subjects including George Floyd’s death and his feelings towards Trevor Noah and Pete Davidson.
Speaking of his antisemitic comments, West said that Ice Cube “really set me up for this”.

Megan Thee Stallion has revealed her dream acting role.
The Texas rapper made her acting debut earlier this year in the Starz drama P-Valley, a series about the women who dance at a Mississippi strip club.
In a new interview, Megan said that her dream role would be Isis, the head-cheerleader from the cult hit Bring It On.
In that 2000 film, Isis, played by Gabrielle Union, is the gutsy leader of a Black cheerleading squad that doesn’t back down from a rivalry with another local squad, led by Kirsten Dunst.
“I always have wanted to be Isis. I would be perfect for that. If they were ever to make a new Bring It On, I should be that character,” Megan told The Cut.
The 27-year-old also said she admires the careers of Queen Latifah and Ice Cube, both rappers who also found success in Hollywood.

A sprig of roaring power emo with your grime, madam? Side of jazz soul? Dash of playlist indie? The modern Reading Festival is an eclectic beast. For the first 45 or so years since one of the oldest existing popular music festivals settled in Reading, through periods of prog, hard rock, metal and indie dominance, it acted as the place that anyone who wasn’t interested in pop music could make their summer second home. Since around 2018, though, it’s faced an identity crisis. What do you do when your core niche – rock music – no longer sells the tickets you have to shift?
Reading & Leeds’s answer has been an attempt to become all festivals to all people – well, all glitter-smothered students clothed largely in netting. The 2022 festival, as a result, resembles three different festivals for the price of one. Friday is akin to a condensed Wireless, headed by rap and grime but accepting all-comers.

A cost-of-living crisis has hit Reading Festival. The age of the £15 burrito has dawned, and judging by the cost of the average greasy burger out in the main arena, you’d be within your rights to demand it served wrapped in gold leaf and salted down the forearm of a charlatan. The catering is priced, we’ll assume, to reflect the fact that Saturday represents what would once be a full weekend at Reading crushed into twelve hours. The traditional indie, metal and punk days piled on top of each other to be consumed in quick-fire bites.
On the morning of the festival, organisers Festival Republic are still cramming on suitable acts like expensive and unnecessary burger toppings. Hardcore screamers Wargasm turn up unexpectedly to open Main Stage East and Pendulum announce a secret set in the dance stage. Back on the advertised programme, in early afternoon both The Sherlocks...

Arctic Monkeys will release their new album The Car in October.
The Sheffield rock band – singer-guitarist Alex Turner, drummer Matt Helders, guitarist Jamie Cook, and bassist Nick O’Malley – have announced the forthcoming release of a new record.
The Car will be the group’s seventh studio album, following on from 2018’s Tranquility Base & Casino and 2013’s Am.
It will feature 10 new songs written by Turner and made with the band’s regular producer James Ford.
According to a press release, The Car finds Arctic Monkeys “running wild in a new and sumptuous musical landscape and contains some of the richest and most rewarding vocal performances of Alex Turner’s career”.
In an interview with The Big Issue, Turner spoke about how the record may compare to the intergalactic sound of their latest release.
“On this record, sci-fi is off the table. We are back to earth”, Turner told the publication.

This year came packed to the brim with surprises, both good and bad. From a pandemic to randomly appearing monoliths to two albums from Taylor Swift, 2020 has kept people on their toes.
And it’s finally coming to an end. Rather than celebrate the closing of this year at grand, in-person parties or festivals, streamers and linear television networks are offering safe at-home alternatives on Dec. 31. Why go out when you can ring in the new year from your living room, anyways?

Fresh home, I bought coke and whipped it
I put some roses where my wrist is
You ain't ever made a birthday cake from Digestive biscuits (Told me turn)
