Rosalie Ida Straus was born on 6 February 1849 in Worms, Grand Duchy of Hesse [now Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany]. She was married to Isidor Straus. She died on 15 April 1912 in North Atlantic Ocean.
Was a passenger on the Titanic. Both herself and her husband were offered a seat on the Lifeboat, but her husband refused saying he wouldn't board before any other man, So she she too refused to go on a lifeboat stating that she and her husband had been together for many years and why separate now. Then she said wherever he goes she goes. The two ended up going down with the Titanic.
