Lamont James Brown
- Actor
- Writer
Lamont's first T.V. appearance was at age 5 on a show called 'Thrill of a Lifetime'. People would write in to the show, hoping to have their 'Thrill' brought to life. His mother wrote to the show, saying he had a crush on Keisha Knight Pulliam ('Rudy' from 'The Cosby Show') and wanted to meet her - lo and behold, he was selected, and they made it happen. He and his mother were flown to NYC (where he would spend most of his 20s), put up in the Park Plaza Hotel, and set the two kids up on a date (with their mothers in tow - Lamont and Keisha were only 5 and 7 years old, respectively), complete with lunch at Tavern on the Green and a horse-and-carriage ride through Central park - he even sang her a song about Ontario where he was born, to a warm reception. A few weeks later, after his episode aired, Lamont and his mother were watching a new episode of 'The Cosby Show', and the episode centered around 'Rudy's' pet goldfish dying. As the Cosbys finished the fish-funeral (solemnly flushing it down the toilet), 'Rudy' bade the fish farewell. And by what name did she call her dearly departing friend? Yup - Lamont.
Lamont's most recent credit in 2024 is a principal role in 'The Long Goodbye', along with 2 other films in post-production scheduled to be released this year ('A Change in Heart' and 'The Unrestricted War'), and a gritty, tasty, textured action film appearing on the festival circuit this year ('Spring is Passing: The Professor'), in which he plays the titular role.
He is also beginning the Filipino stick fighting martial art Balintawak (also known as Kali or Escrima) training to add to his martial arts repertoire. This is yet another step in his continual journey of self-improvement and preparation.
