- TriviaBecause of the Hays Code, screenwriter Herman J. Mankiewicz changed the setting from a Paris brothel to a nightclub in New Orleans, and changed the main character from a prostitute to a more ambiguous nightclub singer and hostess, in adapting the 1939 novel of the same name by W. Somerset Maugham.
- GoofsAfter Robert breaks out of jail, the newspaper spells his last name as "Mannette". However, the correct spelling is "Manette".

Featured review
A Durbin/Kelly disgrace that you won't finish.
As of this writing, this rare film is not available on commercial video and is sold for very high bidding prices on auction sites so only a few with deep pockets have seen it. Durbin fans don't waste the bucks, the odds of you finishing this tripe is even rarer than the film itself. If you are looking for dark Durbin watch Lady On A Train again, Christmas Holiday (despite it's title) is pitch black. The title is misleading since the film is neither Merry (as in Christmas), nor a Holiday. Fortunately there were better films to come in her short career.
