“Agatha All Along” has come and gone, and sadly, we must march ever forward. But you don’t have to do that without some good shows to watch. In fact, showrunner Jac Schaeffer has a few recommendations for you to watch that specifically inspired “Agatha.”

Deadline reports that Scott Adkins (John Wick: Chapter 4) has joined the cast of Rip, Joe Carnahan’s (Narc) upcoming crime thriller for Netflix. The film is set to star Matt Damon (Oppenheimer) and Ben Affleck (The Accountant 2) and follows a “team of Miami cops whose trust begins to fray when they discover millions in cash in a derelict stash house. As outside forces learn about the size of the seizure, everything for the team is called into question — including who they can rely on.“

In the movie, Adkins is set to play Affleck’s brother, and looking at the picture above… I can buy it. There’s definitely a resemblance. The rest of the cast includes Catalina Sandino Moreno (From), Néstor Carbonell (Lost), Sasha Calle (The Flash), Teyana Taylor (A Thousand and One), and Kyle Chandler (Lanterns). In addition to directing Rip, Carnahan also wrote the script.

Nowadays, we have entire feature films serving as a cameo delivery system, where "cameos" aren't brief appearances by very recognizable figures, but are actually entire supporting roles. Thanks to the comic book movie and the output of Marvel Studios in particular, the cameo has since become far more than the Easter egg it used to be. In a cinematic landscape where what we now call cameos can range from teaser appearances of characters to be seen in a future film to big-name actors who were merely kept out of the marketing materials, is there any room for the classic-style cameo anymore?

Much like big American superhero comic books, there are many manga and anime that are intimidating for newcomers simply because of how long they are. Kelly Macdonald, known for her work in Boardwalk Empire and No Country for Old Men, has joined the cast of HBO and DC Studios’ high-profile superhero crime series Lanterns.

Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre are starring in the crime drama, which hails from Chris Mundy (Ozark), Damon Lindelof (Watchmen, Lost) and Eisner Award-winning comic book writer Tom King. The trio are executive producing and writing, with Mundy showrunning what is planned as an eight-episode season.

Lanterns is said to have a gritty, True Detective vibe and follows Hal Jordan (Chandler), a legend amongst the space police force known as the Green Lanterns, as he reluctantly mentors Stewart (Pierre), a younger Green Lantern. The two intergalactic cops get drawn into a dark, Earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland.

Macdonald will play Sheriff Kerry, who per the character description is a no-nonsense woman deeply devoted to her family and close-knit town.

Exclusive: A new location has emerged as a leading contender to serve as backdrop for the anticipated second 9-1-1 spinoff in the works at ABC from Ryan Murphy and Tim Minear. According to sources, Hawaii is heating up as a potential setting for the offshoot, which, as Deadline reported earlier this month, has been picking up momentum after a lengthy gestational period. It is yet to be greenlighted.

Hunter Parrish has joined Nicole Kidman and Jamie Lee Curtis in “Scarpetta,” an upcoming mystery thriller series from Blumhouse Television that has already been greenlit for two seasons by Amazon Prime Video.

The “Weeds” alum joins an ensemble that also includes Ariana DeBose, Bobby Cannavale, Simon Baker, Rosy McEwen and Jake Cannavale.

The series, an adaptation of Patricia Cornwell’s Kay Scarpetta novels, hails from Blumhouse and Amazon MGM Studios. Liz Sarnoff will serve as writer, executive producer, and showrunner.

According to the logline, the show “follows Kay Scarpetta (Kidman), the chief medical examiner, as she returns to Virginia and resumes her former position with complex relationships, both personal and professional – including her sister Dorothy (Curtis), with plenty of grudges and secrets to uncover.”

Parrish will recur as the younger version of Benton Wesley, presumably in flashbacks. Benton is an FBI profiler who strikes up a romance with Kay in the books.

We’re nearing the end of the (witches’) road on “Agatha All Along,” and sadly, Episode 7 marked the official end for another member of the coven: Lilia Calderu.

In a departure from the typical format of the show, Episode 7 — now streaming on Disney+ — was told non-linearly, essentially thrusting viewers into Lilia’s (Patti LuPone) shoes. As it turns out, she’s not batty or wispy or kooky. She just doesn’t experience the flow of time like everyone else.

She’s experienced her life in snippets, living moments out of order. Her powers were particularly strong when she was a kid, but all she saw was death — who turns out to be Rio (Aubrey Plaza), this episode reveals — so she ignored her abilities until now.

Showrunner Jac Schaeffer jumped back into the director’s chair for “Death’s Hand in Mine,” and according to her, the episode was a multi-brain effort to pull off.

Naveen Andrews, who is widely known starring in dramatic roles, said playing Mahesh Pradeep in Prime Video’s new sitcom “The Pradeeps of Pittsburgh” was “uncharted territory.”

“You discover there’s a certain kind of freedom, and it’s good to be challenged, which is why I did it in the first place,” Andrews told TheWrap in response to how the comedy series may have given him any new acting skills to add to his tool belt. “It’s good to go into uncharted territory, and hopefully a challenge to the extent where you’ve got to come through, something good might happen.”
