Beast Tamer

This anime series is centre on Rein; he is a 'beast tamer' in a fantasy world. He was part of Arios, a hero's, party but other members thought his skills to be of little worth so kicked him out. While looking for new work he rescues Kanade. She is a member of a cat tribe, one of the superior species. By taming her he also gains her powers. As the series progresses he tames more superior species. With each one tamed his powers grow and his old allies start to wonder if they made a mistake when they expelled him.

I thought this was a fun little series if not the most original. It is clearly a harem series but manages to avoid excessive fan service. The story is fun and our protagonists are likable. There aren't too many surprises to be had... we can guess any threat Rein encounters will become part of his group if she happens to be a cute girl. The animation and character designs are solid enough. Overall I'd say this is worth a watch if you enjoy the genre. The end of the series suggests that what we've just watched is just the start of the story... whether or not more will be made is less obvious, I suspect not but would watch if there is more.
