As a creative content company, we firmly believe that storytelling is the cornerstone of effective advertising. Our expertise spans a wide range of media platforms, including commercials and social media, allowing us to amplify your brand's message and unlock its full potential.
“I realize that what I do, it’s always a little better to be a little off-center. Find that metaphor that communicates it [the client message]. That distance between the literal and the metaphorical, can kind of be where the humor can be found. I love that…if humor is a part of it.” -Daniel Wiltshire

I’ve known Daniel Wiltshire (motion designer, Chop & Hue) since my first day at my first agency job, and I got to sit down with him for the Bad Idea Social Club podcast.
We discussed the energy that creativity gives and takes, catching influence from film and thin air, and overcoming physical and emotional setbacks to keep artful energy moving forward.

A decade ago, Chop & Hue was formed from a small home office and a makeshift workstation at a dining room table. Dustin, a video editor and director, and Daniel, a motion designer and illustrator, embarked on a mission to redefine video post-production in West Michigan and beyond.
After relocating to our first office in downtown GR, our rapid growth led us to expand to a larger second office and eventually add a third, firmly establishing ourselves as an industry leader. Over the years, Chop & Hue has grown into a thriving collective of talented creatives, colleagues, and friends, forming a reputation and brand that surpassed being “just two guys,” and putting to rest the frequent early question: “Which one of you is Chop and which one is Hue?” (That was not a thing. That was never a thing.)
We would like to extend a sincere “thank you” to the many creatives and employees, past and present, who have been a part of this journey. All the producers, directors, DPs, ADs, grips, gaffers, photographers, set designers, wardrobe and makeup artists, assistant editors, editors, motion designers, animators, VO artists, sound designers, composers, and many more. Your talent and dedication have been invaluable.
Also, a sincere “thank you” to our loyal clients for their trust, collaboration, and willingness to veer off the well-worn path and explore new strategies with us.
As we look toward the future, our excitement is palpable. We eagerly anticipate creating remarkable work alongside exceptional individuals, continuing to champion the belief that craftsmanship matters. With our Ada, Michigan HQ & Studio as our launchpad, we are poised to push the boundaries of visual storytelling even further, delighting brands far and wide. 🪓

"In my journey as a creative leader, I've learned that embracing vulnerability is not a weakness, but a source of true strength. It's through my most vulnerable moments that I've found the deepest wells of creativity and connection. I've come to understand that being open about the pressures and uncertainties we face is what makes our work resonate more deeply with others. This path hasn't always been easy, but it has been incredibly rewarding, revealing a richness in my professional and personal growth. I'm sharing this to encourage a conversation about the power of vulnerability in our creative endeavors, and I'd love to hear your experiences too." Really stoked about this one. This time I sat down with Dustin Foster (video editor, director, Chop & Hue). We talked about the value of collaboration in creativity, finding and addressing your vulnerabilities, and the impact of physical and mental health on creativity. There's a ghost story in there, too.
Please give it a listen. And tell your friends.
