While this is not the outcome we hoped for, we are grateful to our tireless state election leads, hardworking canvassers, and dedicated Clean Water members who poured their hearts and countless hours into encouraging Americans to protect our water through their votes. Looking ahead, we must prepare ourselves for potential threats to environmental protections and public health safeguards under the Trump administration. We anticipate challenges to clean water and clean air programs, cuts to federal environmental and public health programs, reversals of climate initiatives, and an abandonment of critical water projects in communities nationwide. We must remain vigilant in fighting rollbacks or new initiatives that will harm front line communities and the most vulnerable among us. But we also need to do more than just play defense - we need to build a mass-based movement that brings together disparate progressive struggles into a unified and formidable political force going forward. Our mission has never been more vital. Remain on this journey with us as we continue our efforts for water that is fishable, swimmable, and drinkable for all people in all communities. - Jeff Carter, President and CEO Clean Water Action and Clean Water Fund

The first polls are closing, but our mission to protect Clean Water is ongoing. Clean water for all doesn’t hinge on one election -it’s a fight we’ve been in for decades, and we’re here to stay until we reach our goal of water that is fishable, swimmable and drinkable for all people in all communities. Thank you to everyone who voted, supported, and stood with us this election season. You’re more than voters—you’re #CleanWaterChampions. Together, we’re protecting our water, our health, and our future. 💙 #CleanWaterVoter

On the ground in Michigan, many races seem balanced on a razor’s edge. Since August, our team has knocked on over 120,000 doors, turned out the campus early vote, joined forces to protect our freedom to vote, and more. In an election that will be decided by who shows up to vote, the work that we do at Clean Water Action truly matters. Not only what we do in election season to make sure our #CleanWaterVoter voice is heard, but what we do year-round — educating our members and the public about critical issues and engaging more people in the democratic process. This is a great article. I think this work is at the heart of our democracy, and a bulwark against those who threaten it. Out there in the field, knocking on doors, there are no consultants, no pundits, no media strategists, etc. Just people talking to people (most often from their own community) about the issues they care about, and how their voice makes a difference.

Our Minnesota team making waves - and a healthier future for all!
Today is my 2 year anniversary at Clean Water Action. In these two short years, we've: * Passed Amara's Law - the most comprehensive ban on toxic PFAS in the WORLD. * Stopped the requirement that tents contain toxic flame retardants. * Kept over 6,000,000 pounds of boat plastic out of Minnesota landfills * Supported the passage of a solid EPR bill. * Successfully kept campaign finance laws fair transparent. * Given dozens of Healthy Homes presentations across Minnesota. * Presented on 3 panels about our work and how others can take action to protect water quality. * Held town halls across Minnesota, increasing our reach outside the metro area. * Increased funding and delivered on our promises! And we aren't done!
