#SHOUTOUT Farm2People "I wanted to share an exciting success story with you about a fantastic new collaboration that we've solidified for our food pantry at HOPICS. We are now partnered with Farm2People, a volunteer-operated non-profit based in Los Angeles. They focus on securing local farm harvests and bringing fresh food into the food bank network—a project born in response to the Covid-19 food chain breakdown. Farm2People is providing immediate food relief to Angelenos, while also building relationships between agencies and farms to create a more resilient regional network. This partnership aligns perfectly with HOPICS’ mission to provide quality services to homeless and low-income households in South Los Angeles, while also adapting our programs to meet the diverse needs of our community." - Dorothy M. #StaffSubmission

About us
HOPICS stands for Homeless Outreach Program, Integrated Care System. We are a Division of Special Services for Groups. We are committed to serving the Community in Service Planning Area 6 (SPA 6) in Los Angeles County (including Lynwood, Paramount and Compton). We are one of the largest housing and homeless service agencies in Los Angeles County and the largest in SPA 6. We offer a range of services from not only housing, but behavioral health, reentry services, harm reduction and more. We serve poor and low-income households with a client-centered 'whatever it takes' approach. This approach is why we are recognized leaders in direct service and advocacy for those experiencing homelessness and housing instability in Los Angeles County.

HomeLAnd Podcast is NOW streaming on platforms like Spotify and Apple Podcasts. Tune in as the host, our Associate Director Ben Kay, dives into the hard and bold topics of the homelessness crisis with those on the frontlines. All episodes now live. #newpodcast
When we began the HOMELAND project nearly 3 years ago, our goal was to introduce listeners to the issue of homelessness. On the first day of production, after we finished our first interview, we quickly realized the entire focus of the show needed to shift. HOMELAND isn’t a podcast about homelessness - It’s about introducing you to the incredible community of people who are ending homelessness. This community is diverse: Lived Experience Experts Non-Profit Leaders Advocates Elected Officials Frontline Workers System Administrators Educators Faith Leaders Authors Researchers Strategists Every day, this community transcends their differences and commits themselves anew to the hard work of bringing people home. HOMELAND's final episode before the 2024 Election, It Takes a Pueblo, airs tomorrow. If you have questions about homelessness, or have family and friends who are angered by the crisis they see unfolding on our streets, subscribe to HOMELAND. ourhomeland.us This project brings clarity to a crisis that is highly visible and deeply misunderstood. Thank you to ALL who are part of this project (both picture here and those who are not). It has been the honor of my life to work alongside you. Let's keep going. #newpodcast #thehomelandpodcast #2024election #homelessness #housing #CA Joe Colletti, Sofia Herrera, Dr. Kelvin J. 🎶Remember me, though I have to say goodbye Remember me, don't let it make you cry For even if I'm far away, I hold you in my heart I sing a secret song to you, each night we are apart Remember me, though I have to travel far Remember me, each time you hear a sad guitar Know that I'm with you, the only way that I can be Until you're in my arms again, remember me...🎶 -Coco (2017) Today is the Dia de Los Muertos. A time to honor and remember passed loved ones and family members with food, music, and celebration.
