We recently added an 'Outbound clicks' report to web analytics, so you can see the links that people click on to leave your website. Now, Robbie has added a new check using the `cutToFirstSignificantSubdomain` function in ClickHouse, which enables us to exclude subdomains on external clicks. This means you should only see clicks to external websites, rather than people going to your app or other subdomains, via your website.

Product analytics, session replay, feature flags, A/B testing, data warehouse, CDP, surveys. PostHog does that.
About us
At PostHog, we're working to increase the number of successful products in the world. Until now, tools for building products have been fragmented. Product analytics, heatmaps, session recording, web analytics, feature flags, and A/B testing are all helpful, but no one wants to buy, send data to, and integrate multiple products. PostHog offers these tools (and more) in an integrated, open source platform which can be hosted in either the US or EU. Both versions are SOC2 certified, GDPR-ready, and HIPAA compliant. We started PostHog during Y Combinator's W20 cohort and had the most successful B2B software launch on Hacker News since 2012 - with a product that was just 4 weeks old. With over 100,000 users, we're default alive, growing 97% through word of mouth, and we are in the top 0.01% most popular repos on GitHub.

Your brand isn't just your website, it's also... - How much you invest in each part of your company - What you look for when you hire people - How you decide what to build - Whether your ship early or polish - How (and how often) you email customers - The kind of people you hire into customer success or sales - The background and experience of those in your marketing team - The tone of voice on your website - Who is on your board - How your pricing works - How your social media works - How helpful you are to random founders that message you - The marketing channels you pick - What you talk about in your blog and why TL;DR: People buy companies, not just products. The insight builder for Trends queries now includes a new 'First time for user' option. This is exactly what it sounds like. When selected, users are only counted the first time they complete an event or action. This is useful for filtering out users who belong to multiple orgs or accounts, or tracking the growth of new users who are discovering a feature for the first time.

We deliver glad tidings to Android app developers on this day... Our most esteemed mobile developer, Manoel Neto, has added support for `Identified` properties to our Android SDK, which means you can now filter out anonymous users with ease. The PR for this change also adds in a few other things, such as a fix for `identify()` to ensure `identify` events are only captured if the user isn't already identified. PS: If you haven't already, give our session replay beta for Android a try. PPS: React Native session replay is totally very nearly ready, folks. PPPS: We're working on Flutter support, too. Don't worry. PPPPS: Do not google 'hedgehog xray'

New data source alert! 🚨 You can now link your database tables from an Azure SQL server, to PostHog's data warehouse. In fact, you can connect any Microsoft SQL server, because we use Microsoft ODBC 18 to connect to your SQL server. There are some caveats. For Azure databases, we can only use SQL authentication and the database needs to be publicly accessible, or use an SSH tunnel. This should all be easily done, however. We explain it all in the docs, of course. This feature was hand crafted by Tom Owers using only the best local ingredients, responsibly sourced.

if you want to learn about how we built the company and what makes it unique, https://lnkd.in/eQS2VRKf is a really really well written article about us by Bill Kerr - better than what I have managed to put together so far!

ICYMI, you can now add up to THREE breakdown criteria to your product analytics insights at once. You can now breakdown by person properties, group properties, and HogQL expressions, plus the existing option to breakdown by cohorts. Adding multiple breakdowns enables you to more accurately focus on specific user groups and to get detailed data without fiddling with filters.
