Yesterday Team ServiceNow UK&I welcomed nearly 300 friends and family members to our offices in both Staines and Dublin for two very special ‘Bring your family to work and Work Experience Days’!
Visitors ranging in age from under 12 months to 94, joined for a day filled with fun, learning and Halloween treats. Our families groups enjoyed ghostly office tours, treasure hunts, face painting, movie clubs, afternoon tea lounge and special visits from children's entertainers including Elsa & a Pirate! For the Work Experience groups, we offered masterclasses on personal branding, LinkedIn, interview skills, and a coding workshop. We also had panels with colleagues from various departments sharing experiences of joining the corporate world, giving insights into a day in the life of their roles, and closed with a leadership panel where our leaders shared their personal experiences, learnings and advice for the 14-20yr olds in the rooms. With giving back such an important part of our culture, we wanted to ensure that this was part of the day, so we included group activities making cards and creating messages to be shared with local hospitals and care homes in our community.
Being co-lead for our UK Culture Champions group is an enormous privilege, and getting to plan days like this, though wild and chaotic, are so worth it when you see families together with smiles on their faces, and you get to work with some amazing people right across the business to pull it off.
N.B. - May I also just say that I am in awe of all the parents out there who basically do this on a daily basis (albeit hopefully on a smaller scale!)- I was shattered by the end of the day! Hats off to you all for the jugglers, face painters, career advisors and general love-givers that you are!
