The terms of this proposed “Misinformation Bill” leapfrogs the UK’s precipitous descent into authoritarianism and would put Australia at the front of the pack of those countries who like to consider themselves part of the “Free World.” We are teetering at the edge of an abyss where the search for and exposure of truth, corruption, malfeasance and judicial inequities will become almost entirely out of reach for those who do not subscribe to the policies, priorities and prejudices of the government of the day.

An insightful post previously posted on X, by Sean Davis. Nobody wants to hear this because of the implications, but oh well: Joe Biden’s security regime deliberately and with malice aforethought created the conditions that led to an assassin shooting Donald Trump in the head. It is by the grace of God that he lived and our nation is not currently in the midst of a violent civil war. They deliberately starved Trump’s security team of the resources it needed. And they did it repeatedly, over many weeks and months. With Trump’s security detail understaffed, under-resourced, and stretched to its limits, Biden’s security regime diverted even more resources to a hastily planned Jill Biden event that just happened to be in the area. Biden’s security regime then ordered the most obvious assassination perch in the entire area to remain outside the main security perimeter. Furthermore, Biden’s Secret Service director ordered law enforcement and counter-snipers OFF the roof that the assassin used. If that weren’t enough, Biden’s security regime also refused to block line of sight from the assasssin’s perch to Trump’s location. When law enforcement radioed in a suspicious person using a laser range finder at the building and even took photos of him, nothing was done to detain the assassin. The assassin was so obviously a threat that bystanders at the event begged law enforcement to stop him, but nothing happened. And even as snipers on the roof near Trump saw a gunman on the roof, Biden’s security regime refused to have agents immediately surround Trump and remove him from the stage to protect him from being shot. Given the lies and nonsense from both Biden’s DHS secretary and his Secret Service director, it’s increasingly difficult to believe this was a just a series of independent mistakes. In contrast, when you look at the entire picture, what you see better resembles a deliberate plan to make Trump vulnerable but to appear at first glance to be just a couple of innocent mistakes. And when you add in how little information we’ve been given about the about the shooter—apparently the only person on earth not on the Internet—you begin to wonder if maybe a group of people at a different three-letter agency might have been working on a parallel track to find and encourage people to take action against Trump at the very same time he was kept vulnerable by Biden’s regime. We know this happens, because the FBI did it with Gretchen Whitmer: it recruited and urged disturbed individuals to buy weapons and put together a plan to kidnap her. In that case, the FBI wanted a story it could use to slime right-wingers. So it created the story itself. The FBI told us almost immediately that while it couldn’t open the assassin’s phone. It is the bitter fruit of many years of disastrous policies. The decision to inflict on Gaza a humanitarian catastrophe resulted from a combination of three long-term factors: lack of sensitivity to the value of Palestinian lives; lack of sensitivity to Israel's international standing; and skewed priorities that ignored Israel's real security needs. For many years Netanyahu and his political partners cultivated a racist worldview that accustomed too many Israelis to disregard the value of Palestinian lives. A direct line leads from the Hawara pogrom of February 2023 to the current humanitarian tragedy in Gaza. On February 26, 2023, two Israeli settlers were murdered while they were driving through Hawara, in the West Bank. In revenge, a settler mob torched houses, shops and cars in Hawara, and injured dozens of innocent Palestinian civilians, while the Israeli security forces did little or nothing to stop the outrage. Those who became accustomed to burning a whole town in revenge for the murder of two Israelis, took it for granted that it was acceptable to devastate the entire Gaza Strip in revenge for the atrocities of October 7. There is no doubt that Hamas is a murderous organization that on October 7 committed heinous crimes. But Israel is supposed to be a democratic country, which even when confronted by such atrocities continues to respect international laws, protect basic human rights and abide by universal moral standards. This is why countries like the United States, Germany and Britain stood by us following October 7. Of course, democratic countries have the right – nay, the duty – to defend themselves, and in war it is sometimes essential to take very violent actions to achieve vital political aims. It seems, however, that many of the actions Israel took after October 7 were motivated by a thirst for revenge, or worse, by the hope that hundreds of thousands of Palestinians would be forced permanently out of Gaza.

Showing conditions on the ground in North Carolina is “misinformation”? 82 nd Airborne is ONE HOUR away from this disaster. They could have been there the next day with road building equipment, field hospitals, field kitchens, heavy lift helicopters with water and MREs (food), generators, wster filtration equipment and people. Six days later 500 troops, with helicopters and some supplies following 1,000 troops a couple days earlier with no orders, no supplies and no directions. There have been nothing but nothing from FEDS. Why is FEMA denying the 750 in emergency funds to folks who lost there homes. Why is a FEMA official ordering a volunteer medical tent receiving injured survivors to cease operations. Why were the free Starlink equipment delivered to first responders blocked from the Internet? These are questions that need to be answered. Where are the FEMA trailers for those whose homes are uninhabitable?

Stuff. The Business model is buy marginal oil/gas wells in old basins and make a profit using inexpensive labor and a little TLC to maximize production. The successful ones have secured tens of thousands of these wells. Tens of thousands. And the companies make a decent living. But old wells weren’t always drilled with the best casing designs and cementing practices. Even if the wells were properly designed so many water formations can destroy casing strings, mixing fresh and salt waters and allowing methane to migrate to where it shouldn’t. Or a hundred other well problems occur. My point is when acquiring these wells does the acquiring company post sufficient bonds to properly plug these thousands of wells? 70,000 wells at $30,000 to plug. That’s a big check! So one day when commodity prices tank even further, or alternate energy sources make oil and gas obsolete or the wells’ production is too low to show a profit the wells will need plugged. And KY, WV, LA and many other states will need to plug the wells. Wonder how many marginal wells are in Texas today. So entrepreneurs get rich today while taxpayers foot the environmental cleanup down the road. States need to protect themselves by mandating companies post sufficient bonds in escrow to handle this eventual plugging liability. Now the WV politician doesn’t care. Donate to his reelection campaign, buy some goodies for a local school or take him fishing or golfing and the politician doesn’t care what happens ten years later. But I can tell you some day because of well problems, or commodity prices, or new energy sources, these tens of thousands of wells will need plugged. Until then the wells will mix fresh water with salt water and methane with fresh water causing environmental problems. I can’t fix the problem. But I can point out these wells will continue to damage our environment and will eventually need to be plugged. So the next time you read a company has picked up 12,000 old wells from one of the major companies understand the major is ditching their responsibilities for the wells and an entrepreneur will make money off the wells until he walks away. At which time, you the taxpayer will pay to plug the thousands and thousands of wells. I can’t tell you the date but it will happen in my humble opinion. Why would I bring this up? Our country needs to address problems. Nuclear waste. Federal deficit. Just a reminder to state legislatures and Congress. Work on the problems and stop the useless crap.

So true! Makes me think of the prose by Strangest Loop about everything that is not doing the thing. Action is what is needed, but... Companies need to cultivate a culture that rewards action. If employees do not have a safe space to make honest mistakes (in their quest to get things done), or when there is a culture of blame and retribution, employees will prefer to do anything - have more meetings, introduce more red-tape - to delay any action that could potentially get them into trouble. If you want action from your employees, reward initiative and action.

Then chubby, tubby Trump gave trillions in tax breaks to billionaires and thriving corporations while increasing the federal deficit. Vote Trump and watch your Medicare and Social Security benefits decrease. Knuckleheads. Reagen, Bush and Trump tax cuts are the reason we have a federal deficit. Knuckleheads.
