It is BART’s Birthday!
And we got a great early gift yesterday: It was our busiest day since the pandemic started.
Ridership has been on the rise lately and Tuesday we saw 195,296 riders!
BART has more special days coming up.
On Saturday we are giving our old paper tickets a send off. Students from around the Bay Area turned the tickets into high fashion. They will show off their looks 1 p.m. at Rockridge Station parking lot.
And on Monday, the Transbay Tube turns 50!
We launched an online trivia contest to help celebrate a half-century of service in the tube.
The contest runs through Thursday: https://lnkd.in/gYujgE_k
Stay tuned for more and keep riding.

📦🥊With bragging rights on the line two brave Whitebirdiens stepped into the arena for what is now known as ‘The Box Battle’.
One with a confident smile, the other with a determined scowl, our contenders were set for a showdown to see who could construct the most boxes in under one minute. 🕒 The challengers: auto-bottom boxes versus the traditional regular slotted containers (RSCs).
🏆 And the results? They speak for themselves:
Regular Slotted Containers (RSCs): 4 boxes in 50 seconds.
Auto-Bottom Boxes: A whopping 17 boxes in the same time!
That's a staggering efficiency rate over 4 times greater with auto-bottom boxes!
🏷🔥Special Offer Alert: Auto-bottom boxes are now 40% off at Whitebird.ca/offers. But hurry – this incredible deal ends when February does. Don’t miss out - box smarter not harder.

The Worshipful Company of Carmen CartMarking Panel are busy preparing for our next Cart Marking to be held on Saturday 20 July 2024. Don’t miss out!
Cart Marking showcases a truly unique collection of transport dating from the horse and cart to the latest, cleanest, greenest, and safest in use today.
The regulation of carts dates back over 750 years to the early days of the City, with the ceremony of Cart Marking evolving over time.
Today we bring all that history back to life with a modern twist at our annual event, held each July.
You will see handcarts, horses and carts, horse-drawn carriages, steam engines, military vehicles and motorcycles together with historic, vintage and specialist vehicles including the latest, powered by electricity and hydrogen, on display.
The vehicles make their way to Guildhall Yard where they are greeted by the Lord Mayor of London, the Masters of not one but two City of London Livery companies and the Keeper of Guildhall Yard, all wearing their official robes and insignia.
As each vehicle is presented for marking, a commentator tells us about its history and relevance today.
You can view the Cart Marking ceremony on our YouTube channel using this link https://lnkd.in/gDY3Ttnt
What is this all about?
Well, it is quite simple!
A ‘Cart’, in today’s terms, is a vehicle used to transport freight or passengers, for hire or reward.
Marking is done by branding (or burning) a number, letter, or symbol on to a wooden block which is attached to the ‘cart’.
But why was it done?
This was the earliest form of vehicle licensing, and having paid for your licence, a mark would be burnt onto your wooden cart. This would allow that cart to ply for trade ‘for hire or reward’ for the forthcoming year, after which a new mark would be branded each year to allow that cart to continue in use.
Back then the licence fee would have been five shillings (25p today). What is five shillings compared to £850 road tax for an articulated lorry today?
Five shillings is still paid to the City of London today for each vehicle that passes through Guildhall Arch.
Ronan McDowall (left) started with us early this month. He had a lot of potential to contribute to our team and started within a week of getting an offer at a time when we were short handed. Only catch was he didn’t have a car and Langdon isn’t exactly on the city transit route.
When he asked about ride share I asked Brandon Bollum (right) if I could pass him his number. “Yep no problem “
Ronan’s place wasn’t exactly on his way to work.
Brandon also owns his own welding business so has to organize his yard and guys in the morning before he heads to JPAK (almost an hour commute)
He picked Ronan up every day for a few weeks.
On top of that he helped Ronan find a cheap car that’s good on fuel. They went and picked it up together and he even took him to the registry
At #JPAKeng we win and lose as a team.
It’s one of our key core values.
Big shout out to Brandon for stepping up,
We got him a gift card to Irvines which I know he’ll appreciate!
Being in the designer it’s often easy to forget your part of a team. You have your task handed to you by your manager, you try to do it well, and you figure your success should pretty much be reflective of your deliverables.. this is loser thinking.
If the project fails everyone looks bad. If the brand is burnt everyone suffers.
But if the client wins we all win. If the brand looks like rockstars we all get to ride that ride.

For several evenings here in May my daughter's Marching Band practiced in preparation for this year's Indy 500 Parade.
They had the Honor of being 1 of the 15 Bands participating in it.
Typically Summer Band Camp doesn't start till first part of June, so these were some extra early sessions plus the graduating Seniors stayed for the event also.
It was a whirlwind of activity leading up to this past Saturday.
Plus there has been threats of bad weather during the Parade, we kept our fingers crossed.
For those of you never participating in a large- scale Parade, there is a lot of hurry up and waiting involved.
We had to be there in full uniform 2 hours before to get in the proper place then we waited.
As we marched towards the start other participants would "blend" in behind and in front of us.
Seen a couple of the Drivers in their escorts trucks, the Indy 500 Queen in her car and several Parade units.
Our kids did amazing, I got to walk with them the entire route with our First Aid kit, just in case....
They all hang in there like the troupers that are and proudly represented our School and City.
It was a memorable experience for all of us....

My Mentors have decided to drastically shake things up in their online business.
No, not how they are doing it- thru Content Creation and Community, that isn't changing.
They are changing where and how the Community is structured.
Both of them will be shutting down their respective FB Groups and consolidating their Community on the Skool platform.
It will be a Free Community, that being said, many of their current paid clients are making sales in the Group.
Crazy right, but its true.
It's a Free Skool Community with all sorts of Free valuable trainings.....

As police officers and hockey fans, we are saddened by the tragic loss of National Hockey League (NHL) star Johnny Gaudreau & his younger brother Matt, who were struck and killed by a suspected drunk driver while cycling in Oldmans Township, New Jersey. According to New Jersey State Police, the brothers were riding on a road around 8 p.m., just before sunset, when a man driving an SUV attempted to pass two other vehicles and struck them from behind. The impact was fatal.
The driver, who is in custody, admitted to drinking alcohol and faces serious charges. This tragic incident is a stark reminder of the dangers of drunk/impaired driving & the importance of being vigilant around all vulnerable road users.
We frequently see the devastating effects of impaired, careless & reckless driving here on our streets, and each one hurts our community. Drivers must always be aware of cyclists, pedestrians, and other vulnerable road users, especially in low-light conditions. Colorado is a very active state for recreation, and people can be seen running, walking or riding at almost any hour. No matter who you are, drug and alcohol use will impair your ability to drive a vehicle safely, putting everyone on the road at risk. Additionally, the consequences of poor decision making, as we have seen here, are devastating for the families involved.
We urge our Lakewood community to make responsible choices. If you are drunk, high, buzzed...simply don’t drive — call a cab, ride the RTD or use a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft.
Anytime you are behind the wheel, please stay alert & share the road responsibly. Please remind your loved ones to participate in safe, sober, and responsible driving. #DontDriveHigh#PreventDrunkDriving#bicyclesafety#johnnygaudreau#roadsafety#cycling#DUI#Colorado
