12 cards for 12 months of the year. The simplist of card decks really. Earlier this year I joined an art session where we made our own mini deck of cards for the year. It was super simple and all made from a single sheet of A4 card. The idea was to have one card for each month and to give each month a focus word for 2024. THEN (and I think this is cool) you use the same deck next year and add your 2025 words for each month. That way you keep track of all of your words for years to come as you build up year after year. This months words is PLAY. Which seems funny that it’s taken 8 months to reach this word when I’m always talking about play so much. But to me, this year was all focused around growing and developing my little baby and I figured that by September they’d be out of the newborn stage and into the play stage. And I was right - we’ve just reached the touching, grabbing and being interested stage. But note to self - I also need to learn to play like a baby - both with my baby and when I’m on my own! So I’m challenging myself for the rest of the month to be more curious, see things I’ve never seen before and be totally present in the moment.
