Healthcare Operations Strategist | Managed Care Specialist | Process Management | Data Analysis & Reporting
The article discusses the potential of AI to revolutionize long-term care operations and improve patient care. AI technologies are expected to enhance various aspects of senior living facilities, including administrative tasks, resident monitoring, and personalized care planning. Key points from the article include: AI can streamline administrative processes, reducing paperwork and freeing up staff time for direct patient care. Advanced monitoring systems using AI can detect changes in residents' behavior or health status, allowing for early intervention. Personalized care plans can be developed using AI algorithms that analyze patient data and predict potential health issues. AI-powered robots and virtual assistants may help with tasks like medication reminders and social interaction for residents. The integration of AI in long-term care facilities could lead to improved efficiency, better health outcomes, and enhanced quality of life for residents. While the article highlights the potential benefits of AI in long-term care, it also acknowledges the need for careful implementation and consideration of ethical concerns surrounding data privacy and human interaction. https://lnkd.in/e5bg5C2u #healthcare #healthcareinnovation #healthcareit #healthcareai #ai #genai #generativeai #llm #ml #ltss #hcbs #ltc #alf #snf #MemoryCare #medicaid

I really enjoyed this article. Some notable quotes: “Before health systems embark on this journey, they should assess the level of data literacy among business leaders.” “Anchor on value.” “Stay clear-eyed on compliance, but do not frame it as a constraint.” “Trust is the currency of health care. For AI adoption to be successful, trust in the data, technology and outputs is non-negotiable. If technology or insights are not trusted — and therefore are unused — value is absent.” When I translate this into the concept of future-proofing EHR/CIS’s what does this mean? The quote from this article that comes to mind is as follows: “Where is trust going to be challenged (e.g., changed workflows; personal data collection)? Where can trust be built (e.g., when ambient listening technology enables clinicians to increase eye contact and reduce time typing; personalization results in better health outcomes)? What additional programs or protocols can be instituted to build trust (e.g., requiring data scientists to take ethics training; data collection opt-out options)?” If you’d like to learn more about how Accenture can accelerate your journey as it relates to EHR/CIS and future-proofing your environment to support data and AI – connect with us anytime. #Accenture #CIS #EHR #ClinicalTransformation #ACNCISTaskForce Chris Barry Emily Hogan Nicole Wu RN, BscN, MHA Jennifer Pinto MHI, PMP Inna Ulziibaatar Jackie Cyr MSN, MBA Christiane Constant Sunny Sanghee Baek, RN Ramina Dhillon April Truelove
My colleague, Lauren Logan authored an article published by the American Hospital Association on responsible AI. I found it to be a very comprehensive guide for health trustees and leaders assessing the opportunities and risks of their generative AI journey. https://lnkd.in/g3ZcCnKf #Accenture #generativeAI #Healthcare

VP Enterprise Intelligence | AI Transformation Leader | Yale-Trained NP | Investor | Advisor | MIT Sloane School of Management
Excited to be featured in McKnight's Senior Living article on the transformative potential of AI in long-term care.🌟 In this piece, my colleagues and I share insights on how AI can revolutionize care delivery, improve operational efficiency, and pave the way for future innovations in our field. It's an honor to be part of this important conversation and to discuss the practical applications and ethical considerations of AI in senior living. But, for businesses of the future, AI is only 1 (very powerful) component in the equation. For companies to transform into highly intelligent enterprises and avoid obsolescence in the era of advanced AI systems, they must leverage 2 additional components. At Maplewood Senior Living, we’re on an uncharted path toward Enterprise General Intelligence (EGI). The 3 key competents to achieve EGI? Business Intelligence (BI), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Human Intelligence (HI). Without all 3 working synergistically, companies will struggle to maximize their full protential in the era AI. I’ll be unpacking this concept in future posts and sharing some insights from our EGI path. Onward! #AI #SeniorLiving #LongTermCare #HealthcareInnovation #OperationalEfficiency

Health executives must be strategic about what to do now, and what groundwork to lay for the future, to create value through AI. ▶ EY interviews with global executives show the use of AI and GenAI in health care requires committed leaders, and the right governance, data and skill sets. ▶ Only 36% of health care CEO respondents said they had assessed how to effectively govern the risks unique to AI, according to the EY CEO Outlook Pulse Survey. ▶ As health organizations mature their governance and foundational capabilities, they can evolve their use of AI from back office to care delivery.
