Bach

Apprenticeship and work as a lithographer at the Nister Art Institute, and from 1901 to 1907 he attended evening classes at the Nuremberg School of Applied Arts under Heinrich Heim. From 1909 to 1914 he studied at the Munich Academy under Angelo Jank and was a master student under Heinrich von Zügel; during his studies he was awarded the Small and Large Silver Medal. From 1916 he served in the military. From 1918 he worked as a freelance painter in Nuremberg. In addition to animal pictures, he painted Nuremberg and Franconian scenes, mostly depicting manual work in the style of German Impressionism or Post-Impressionism; his work also includes flower pictures and still lifes. From 1913 to 1952 he lived at Imhoffstrasse 8, from 1929 to 1932 his studio was at Rothenburger Strasse 14. In 1922 he was a member of the Nuremberg Art Association, and in 1924 he was a founding member of the artist group “Die Hütte”.
