Which operating systems are available?
We offer an ML in a Box template (see GitHub repo) as well as stock versions of Ubuntu 20.04 and 18.04.
Is my environment persistent?
Yes! Any changes you make to your system, including installing packages and downloading data, will persist across sessions.
How do I connect with SSH?
When you create a new instance, you will receive the root password in an email. From there, you can upload your own SSH key. We are working on improving this experience. Note: Your instance is fully persistent until you terminate the instance so you will not need to go through this setup each time.
How do I upload & download data to my instances from my local machine?
There are numerous ways of moving data in and out of your instance. Some examples include, transferring data with SCP, using Wget to pull data from publicly accessible URLs, and pulling and pushing data to public and private S3 Buckets, Google Cloud Storage Buckets, Azure Blob Storage.
What libraries come preinstalled on ML in a Box?
ML in a Box comes preinstalled with CUDA, Tensorflow, Pytorch, Scikit-learn, RAPIDS, NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Jupyter, and more. You can view the full list on GitHub.
Where are your data centers located?
We have datacenters located in Secaucus, NJ, Santa Clara, CA, and Amsterdam, NL.
Can I spin up multiple instances?
Yes, you can spin up multiple instances. There is a quota (sometimes referred to as a Service Limit) on each account. This limit is visible in the console and can be increased by reaching out to our Customer Success team (see the "help" icon in the console).
Can I use Blender, 3D applications, or render?
We offer an experimental desktop option for Linux but we recommend using Windows for desktop/GUI applications.
Can I mine Bitcoin or other cryptocurrency?
No, mining Bitcoin or other cryptocurrency mining is not allowed.

What's the difference between individual & team accounts?
When you sign up, you start with a "private workspace." This is your individual plan. To invite collaborators, create a new team and you'll see an option to invite other users. Your private workspace and team(s) are billed separately.
Can I set a billing alert or limit?
Yes! Navigate to the billing tab to control alerts and limits account-wide. On a team, you can also set individual alerts and limits on each user by opening the settings panel for a specific user.
Is private data shared with third parties or advertisers?
No.
How do I cancel my account?
You can cancel your account anytime through the console, under the settings tab.
Billing
What forms of payment do you accept?
We use Stripe to process payments. We accept all major credit and debit cards including Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. Custom invoicing is available on our business plans. Contact our sales team to learn more.
When will I be billed?
Billing occurs monthly and runs at midnight on the first of each month. You can check view your invoices on the billing tab and track compute utilization in realtime on the utilization tab.
Do you offer refunds?
No. Please open a support ticket if there are extenuating circumstances.
