Accessibility

Date last updated: March 30, 2021

At Skillsoft, our goal is to help people and organizations achieve their fullest potential through learning and development. Providing accessible content and technologies to people with disabilities is an important aspect of this goal.

Skillsoft’s Accessibility Program Office is led by Kate McCarthy, VP of Accessibility, and championed by Apratim Purakayastha, Skillsoft’s CTO, who has executive responsibility for Accessibility. Their leadership helps to maintain Accessibility as a core value for our company.

Our Federal customers already know about the importance of Accessibility, and many of our Fortune 500 customers also recognize the importance of providing their employees with equal access to learning.

Skillsoft Commitment to U.S. Federal Agencies and Evolving Section 508 Standards

Skillsoft is committed to creating and delivering eLearning and talent management solutions that are accessible to users regardless of age, ability, or situation. We strive to identify which of our products have accessibility features, and the extent of those accessibility features. Where we measure and evaluate accessibility, we do so using the WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 standards issued by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and the applicable version of Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act. For many of our products, specific information related to their most recently known accessibility features can be found in our Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates (VPATs), which include descriptions of exceptions or deviations from these standards. With over 120,000 digital assets and multiple technology interfaces, we are not able to guarantee that all legacy items will meet current WCAG or Section 508 standards, or support every new assistive technology. In addition, please note that an accurate statement in a VPAT might not assure accessibility for a specific user preferring a specific platform, interface, or assistive technology. Skillsoft is fully committed to addressing and reducing accessibility exceptions as soon as commercially practicable. We welcome, and benefit from, all feedback and suggestions.

VPATs

Voluntary product accessibility templates (VPATs) provide details on how the accessibility features of the listed content, platforms, players, and portals help customers address Section 508 and WCAG (A and AA) accessibility requirements.

For example, the Percipio Learning Platform VPATs are:

  1. Percipio LP Section 508/WCAG 2.0 VPAT
  2. Percipio LP Section WCAG 2.1 VPAT

Skillsoft VPATs are available on request, please contact your Account Manager.
