Esther McVey has been confirmed as the Conservative Party’s candidate for Tatton at the next general election.
Ms McVey appeared before her local Conservative association’s selection panel this evening (Wednesday 1st March) where she set out her case for why she should be re-selected by the party.
She has been the MP for the area since 2017, taking over from fellow Conservative George Osborne who held the seat since 2001.
Ms McVey said: “I am absolutely delighted to have been re-selected as the Conservative Party candidate for Tatton, it is a real honour and privilege.
“I will keep working hard for my constituents.”
The next general election is currently expected to happen in mid/late 2024 but at the very latest it must take place by the end of January 2025.
