Hello Games’ never-ending string of updates for No Man’s Sky has checked off a big feature for long-term fans of the game. If you’ve ever wanted to kill time sat by and alien lake waiting for alien fish to take a nibble, now you can in No Man’s Sky Aquarius.

Following on from No Man’s Sky – Worlds Part I, which completely overhauled the water effects as part of a broader planetary overhaul, Aquarius invites you to head down to the water and go fishing with your friends.

The game now features:

  • Catch, collect and catalogue a vast array of fish!
  • Explore different habitats and craft unique bait to track down each new catch.
  • Deploy the Exo-Skiff and fish in comfort, whatever the weather.
  • Join the community on a laid-back fishing expedition and earn exclusive nautical customisation options.

For all the details on everything else that’s added in Aquarius – there’s new cooking recipes, for example – head to the No Man’s Sky website.

  1. Not something i would have ever requested tbh but more gameplay loops are always welcome. It does feel like they are testing out tech for the new game with the recent Worlds water tech and now this fishing update – and it’ll be neat to discover new aquatic life – i just hope they are holding back enough to differentiate the new game.
