Problems with connection

[edit]

The sentence connected via this link is not a description of the book Middlemarch, but rather a sentence about the fictional person named. This is the second time the links have been added. Please prevent it from happening a third time. --EncycloPetey (talk) 18:07, 17 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Likewise for this edit and the novel Adam Bede. --EncycloPetey (talk) 18:08, 17 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The root problem is that described by source (P1343) and main subject (P921) are not equivalent. --EncycloPetey (talk) 18:10, 17 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@EncycloPetey These batches have usually thousands of edits and is not possible to check them. For preventing adding such cases you can
1) remove (or repair) wrong link from both en.wikiosurce and WD item about encyclopedic entry
or
2) mark it as deprecated.
Or, you can find better queries. JAn Dudík (talk) 20:34, 17 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The problem is not on en.wikisource; it is in the misinterpretation of that information. A link on wikisource to wikipedia does not imply that the link is automatically the "main topic". Thus the error is in the automated interpretation of connections, and much be fixed that way.
Is bot user error a reason for deprecation? --EncycloPetey (talk) 20:43, 17 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@EncycloPetey When in one entry P921 IS main topic and in second of the same encyclopedia is NOT, how to recognize it? In these cases is necessary mark them (e.g. deprecating) JAn Dudík (talk) 13:23, 18 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
And what is the reason I give for deprecation? How do I indicate with that field that data was misinterpreted by an automated process even after the bot operator was informed? --EncycloPetey (talk) 16:11, 18 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I see now that you added P921 to one entry, then used that fact to justify adding the other property. The original edits were also in error. --EncycloPetey (talk) 16:17, 18 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Harvest QID from ZedlerWD

[edit]

Hi Jan, could you please use the last parameter of ZedlerWD as the main topic? Example https://de.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Zedler:Plau,_Plaw,_Plaue,_auch_Blaue&oldid=4420406 --Arnd (talk) 19:55, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
