Baldur's Gate 3 Player Built Army of Nearly 90 Minions, Filling Entire Screen With Them
Do you dream of having a private army in Baldur's Gate 3? One player showed how to gather 90 minions and without using a single mod.
Baldur's Gate 3 allows players to complete the story in hundreds of different ways. Similar to the classic Dungeons and Dragons, the devs have allowed for many unconventional solutions, which fans are constantly testing.
There are players who fight enemies by walking, blowing up everyone in their path, and even take up the fight with a character with zeroed statistics. It turns out that you can also build your own army, which with its numbers will overwhelm any enemy, and all this without using any mod.
How to build an army in BG3?
One of the Reddit users recently surprised the BG3 fan community with unusual screenshots. They show his team surrounded by dozens of various mobs that we can summon in the game.
How did he accomplish this? As we can see in the screenshot above, each of the heroes in the party has a specific number of mobs assigned to them. This happens because each of the characters is a spore druid.
The player changed the classes of all heroes except Tav to this one specific druid subclass, with the aim of summoning the largest number of minions. Of course, that's not all. The author used magical items, additional spells, and skills to summon specific mobs.
Here is what I used.
Tav is 11 Cleric and 1 Wizard. Learn the summon elementar spells from scrolls and you can summon: Planar ally, mummy, myrmidon, 3x undead, 2x mephits, spirit guardian, spirit weapon, flame sphere, shovel and us.
Shadowheart is 6 spore druid 6 necromancer with necromancy of thay, crypt lord ring and sights of the seelie. Summons: mummy, myrmidon, Deva, 4x undead, 2x mephits, quasit, 5x ghoul, 4x spore zombies, a flame sphere and Connor.
Karlach is 9 spore druid and 3 cleric with infernal rapier. Summons: Myrmidon, Cambion, 3x Undead, 2x mephits, Dryad, Wood woad, Scratch, 4x spore zombies, flame sphere and a spirit weapon.
Minsc is 9 spore druid and 3 cleric with shadow lantern. Summons: Myrmidon, Shadow, 3x Undead, 2x mephits, Dryad, Wood woad, Boo, 4x spore zombies, flame sphere and a spirit weapon. Also used the spider egg thingy to get 5 baby spiders.
As for the spore zombies as long as you can refresh your spore charges, with stuff like potion of angelic slumber or Raphael's bath water, there's no limit to the number you can summon. I think I had 28.

The player successfully controlled a total of 86 mobs simultaneously, forming an army of 90 characters when combined with the party.
Of course, maintaining all units all the time isn't possible. We can only summon many mobs once during the game. We should remember plot events, extended breaks, and all other factors that will impact our ability to concentrate and maintain summoning spells.
According to the commentators discussing the players' thread, the result is really impressive. However, many of them are wondering whether such an army is effective against bosses and how long one turn of battle lasts with such a large number of various characters. What about you? Would you like to lead an army in BG3?
