Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Story Trailer is Here! FromSoftware Takes a Closer Look at Expansion’s Plot
FromSoftware and Bandai Namco released a new trailer for the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion for Elden Ring. This time, more emphasis was placed on the presentation of the story.
Bandai Namco and FromSoftware studio revealed a new trailer for the upcoming Elden Ring expansion Shadow of the Erdtree. It focuses on presenting the story of the expansion, in which, following the footsteps of Miquella - the brother of Malenia, we will explore the dark Land of Shadow.
FromSoftware did it again. Once again, the studio released an enigmatic trailer, which will be analyzed by the community frame by frame until the premiere of the DLC, in search of the smallest pieces of information. It's a real delight for fans of the Elden Ring lore. It doesn't offer anything interesting for enthusiasts of pure gameplay like myself.
The three-minute film beautifully depicted Queen Marika, presumably taking her first steps in the Land of Shadow. Next, we see the city being consumed by flames caused by the tyranny of her son - Messmer the Impaler - a character portrayed as the main antagonist of the expansion. You can also see other previously presented enemies there.
Because of this war, Miquella gave up everything and rid herself of the "golden flesh and blinding strength." However, there are still people who follow him, and we can see them at the end of the trailer. At this point, an interesting question also arises, "Will you walk with us?", suggesting that the player will have some kind of choice.
I must admit that while watching this trailer, I felt downright sad that I never got to know the Elden Ring lore more deeply, and my head wasn't immediately filled with theories about the new story. Nonetheless, I am sure that many of you will be able to appreciate it much more than I do.
We remind you that Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree will be released exactly in a month - June 21. The DLC will be available on PC and PS4, PS5, XOne, and XSX/S consoles.
