As a globally adored franchise, Final Fantasy has consistently captivated fans with its innovative storytelling and immersive gameplay. The release of Final Fantasy XVI on PS5 was met with immense anticipation and excitement. Now, PC gamers can finally embark on this epic adventure as FF16 makes its awaited debut on this platform. However, some people are facing crashes, performance issues and low FPS. Read on, to find out more.

Final Fantasy XVI – Performance Issues and Low FPS Fix

Unfortunately, it seems that the performance issues plaguing Final Fantasy XVI haven't been entirely resolved since its initial release on PlayStation 5 over a year ago. Many players reported frame rate drops during cutscenes, and this problem persists in the recent PC port. This is particularly disappointing given that fans had hoped these issues would be addressed based on their experiences with the demo version.

Stuttering during cutscenes or gameplay can be caused by a range of factors, such as hardware limitations, software bugs, or even the game's optimization. Some PlayStation players have reported that switching from performance to a different mode has improved their overall experience. Also, depending on your graphics card, adjusting the resolution settings might help. The default option may not always be optimal for your PC.

Additionally, disabling or lowering settings like motion blur can also make a difference. Motion blur, while intended to create smoother visual transitions, can be computationally demanding and cause frame rate drops. To improve performance, consider turning off or reducing the intensity of this setting. If these tweaks don't fully resolve the problem, experiment with other graphical settings such as shadow quality, texture filtering, anti-aliasing, ambient occlusion, and tessellation to further optimize performance and minimize stuttering.

For those who continue to encounter FPS drops, even on higher-end hardware, here's another approach to try. It seems that the demo and full version of the game share a shader file that might be causing compatibility problems.
