A new DLC to Risk of Rain 2 is here. It is called Seekers of the Storm and introduces a lot of new things (Warped Echo among them). It is also a good chance to play fresh characters like the Chef or False Son. Unlocking them may be a little bit tricky, though. We have presented how to get Chef in the linked article, so here let’s look at False Son and how to purify his heart, as it is difficult.

How to Purify the Heart of the False Son in Risk of Rain 2 (RoR2)

According to some players, acquiring this character is bugged (especially on consoles) and sometimes the False Son may not unlock. To make your chances higher, make sure that Aurelionite spawns during the fight and transforms into its final form. Don’t kill the boss too quick.

  1. Defeat Aurelionite. This boss can be found in Gilded Coast. You can get there through Altar of Gold or Lunar Seer in the Bazaar.
  2. The boss should drop Halycon Seed. Take it, as it is a key item to unlock the character.
  3. Now, go through the green portal. You might have already stumbled upon it. It is the same passage, which you can find thanks to Halcyon Pillar (green crystals) on the 1st Stage. After Charging it up (you need gold to do that), Halcyon Knight (a golden golem) appears. Defeating this boss activates a portal.
  4. Complete 2 more stages. Always pick green portals.
  5. It should take you to the Prime Meridian location. Go up, to the point of meeting the False Son boss.
  6. Defeat the boss having Halycon Seed.
  7. It should unlock the new character for you.

While the process may be a little bit tiring, it is worthwhile. RoR2 is a solid title and it has a place on our list of the best roguelike titles 2023.
