Road to Vostok, a promising survival FPS game dubbed the "Finnish STALKER", has received a new demo.

  1. You can download the demo version from Steam. The demo "weighs" 1.76 GB.
  2. The demo version is to enable the devs to test the new engine powering the game.
  3. The latest demo and the previous ones show mainly the technical layer of the project. The next demo will be different and will focus mainly on gameplay.
  4. It is worth recalling that originally Road to Vostok was created on the Unity engine. Recent controversies related to this technology, however, made the developer decide to switch the project to the open-source Godot engine. The just-released demo is the first opportunity to see how the game performs on this new technology.
  5. Judging by the demo, the switch to another engine was successful. However, it was a difficult task and the game developer had to devote 615 hours to it. How the whole process went you can see in the video below.

Recall that Road to Vostok is heading exclusively for PC. All demos made available so far belonged to the "Public Demo 1" series, focused on presenting the technical layer of the game. Public Demo 2 series will focus on gameplay and is expected to be released in the first quarter of next year. Then in the second quarter, an improved version of this demo will be released, with new elements and features, partly developed based on player suggestions.
