Star Wars: Outlaws and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora May Skip Steam and EGS
Ubisoft's upcoming games Star Wars: Outlaws and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will be available on PC exclusively through Ubisoft Connect. However, there's a chance that they will also make their way to Steam and Epic Games Store upon release.
If you're a PC gamer who prefers Steam to other digital stores, and are looking forward to Ubisoft's upcoming games, you may be disappointed. Both Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and Star Wars: Outlaws on PC will only be available on the publisher's platform, Ubisoft Connect, at least at launch.
This information comes from the official websites of these games. This is quite puzzling, especially since the upcoming Assassin's Creed: Mirage and The Crew Motorfest will also hit Epic Games store on release. Besides, Ubisoft's bigger titles have debuted at EGS in recent years - examples include AC: Valhalla or Far Cry 6.
There is, however, a good chance that Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and Star Wars: Outlaws will eventually make their way to both Steam, and the store of Fortnite's creators. Recently, Ubisoft has moved many of its newer games to Valve's platform. Last December, we saw AC: Valhalla and Anno 1800, and quite recently also Far Cry 6, appear on Steam.
It is worth noting that all of the aforementioned games were released on Steam no less than a year and a half after their official premieres. So it is very possible that we will have to wait a while before Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and Star Wars: Outlaws will cease to be PC exclusives on Ubisoft Connect.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will debut on December 7 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. It will be an open-world first-person action game set in the cinematic universe created by James Cameron.
Premiere of Star Wars: Outlaws will take place in 2024 on PS5, XSX and PC. The game will explore the fate of smuggler Kay Vess, and the action will be viewed from a third-person perspective.
