Video Tape in Shadows of Doubt Explained
Video tapes are among items you can find during your investigation in Shadows of Doubt. Find out what to do with them in this guide.
Have you come across some mysterious VHS tapes while investigating in Shadows of Doubt and wondered what they’re for? Are they an easter egg, or a clue for the case? In this article, we explain what is currently known about video tapes in the game.
Video Tape in Shadows of Doubt Explained
In the action adventure game Shadows of Doubt, you play as a private investigator working on different cases, with murders as the main “attraction”. Over the course of your investigations, you can find different items. One of them is a mysterious video tape. According to the description, it’s old tech and it’s hard to find a gadget that could run it.
Some players expected to be able to play the tapes at your Apartment, or a TV encountered somewhere in the game. However, the community did not manage to find a device that would actually allow them to watch the footage. As such, it seems that, at least in the current version of Shadows of Doubt as of writing this article, there is no use for the video tapes. At the moment, they appear to be only flavour items, or decoration.
However, it might be worth checking VHS tapes every now and then. Since Shadows of Doubt is in Early Access, new features might be added in upcoming updates. It is possible that the devs will implement a way to watch video tapes, like fans have speculated, or use them in your investigation in another way.
