“American Distributionalism”
[edit]Bloomfield was not the founder of “American Distributional”. Harris, Bloch and others were the proponents of Distributionalism. Bloomfield’s views in e.g. “Language” were much more nuanced, he never wrote anything to support Harris et. al. in this regard.
The two sources that allegedly support this are terrible and definitely are not “Reliable”.
P.H. Matthews’ book on American Structuralism makes this clear.
There’s also interesting discussion of distributionalism in several recentish articles by Mark Aronoff. Jomeara421 (talk) 19:02, 22 July 2023 (UTC)
