[edit]

I have removed this from the article:

Prior to his service in the Royal Navy, Sir William was a proficient educator, even being hired to establish a military academy near what is now Syracuse, NY. This academy, Manlius Military Academy, ultimately combined with nearby Pebble Hill, to form what is now Manlius Pebble Hill. This school is still in use today.

Goodenough entered the navy as a cadet aged 13[1] so it's unlikely he was the individual mentioned here. Drutt (talk) 23:40, 30 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Pronunciation

[edit]

What is the correct pronunciation of this gentleman's name? "Good-enuf"? "Good-enow"? "Good-eknow"? Something else? Is the "e" perhaps silent? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:589:300:C7C0:C58E:D89B:3610:8CCE (talk) 15:30, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
