Transworld Group is a multinational shipping and logistics company, based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It has business interests in shipping and logistics, aviation, supply chain management, and food processing, among others. Established in 1977 by R. Sivaswamy, the company has offices in the United Arab Emirates, the United States, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Sri Lanka, and multiple cities in India.[2][3]

History

The company was founded in Mumbai in 1977. The activities of the company include – ship management, shipping agencies, feedering, supply chain Management, NVOCC, freight forwarding, and container and Bulk carriers. It has a fleet of 27 ships that include 15 feeder vessels and 12 container ships.[2][4][5]

Transworld Group has rebranded Shreyas Relay Systems Ltd and Balaji Shipping Line FZCO, into Avana Logistek Ltd. which takes care of the logistics and supply chain activities of the group. With this, Shreyas Relay Systems Ltd. was converted to Avana Coastal and NVOCC division, Balaji Shipping Line FZCO was transformed to Avana Global.[6][7][8]

In association with Birlasoft (KPIT) and Oracle India on the 40th anniversary of the company, Transworld had announced a digital transformation project in the name of Innovation in Motion.[9]

The company bought the vessel 1,608 TEU Mekur Tide and renamed it as OEL Shravan.[10]

Transworld Group acquired MV Suffolk Trader and renamed it MV SSL Krishna on 19 June 2018. It is the 24th addition to the fleet of the group.[11][12]

In 2023 Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) and Transworld Group agreed on the constructiong of a 50,000+ square metre, dry and temperature-controlled distribution centre in the Zone, doubling Transworld's regional capacity.[13] The company entered the air charter business in April 2024 when it partnered with Sirius India Airlines to bring private air travel brand Airavat Aviation to the UAE. [14] The company entered into a ship management joint venture with Hong Kong's Fleet Management in July 2023.[15]
